    • In a glove door-installed knee air bag apparatus, a stud bolt of an inflator is fixed to an inflator supporting member in a state that the stud bolt is inclined in a vertical direction relative to a general plane of a glove door inner member. Due to the structure, a thickness W0 of an air bag module measured at the inflator installing portion is made small. The inflator supporting member includes a first portion and a second portion. In a case where a hook portion is formed in the first portion, the number of parts can be reduced. In a case where the inflator is located at a lower portion of a housing space, a handling force for opening and closing the glove door is light. In a case where the first portion comprises a bottom wall of the air bag casing and the second portion comprises a side wall of the air bag casing, the number of parts is reduced.

    • In a disk array apparatus, by taking note of a first sound of a specific frequency which is a noise element of original sounds generated from a fan, a second sound whose phase is inverted to that of the first sound is generated by a structure of a cooling air flow path passing through the fan, and the second sound is synthesized with the first sound on the cooling air flow path, thereby reducing the noise. For example, an exhaust duct is located on a fan unit in an upper part of the apparatus, two flow paths extending to an exhaust port are formed in an internal structure of the exhaust duct, and the two flow paths are designed so that the difference in the flow path length therebetween becomes equivalent to half wavelength of the specific frequency.

    • The present invention relates to a system and method for controlling air conditioning facilities, and a system and method for power management of a computer room. In an air-conditioning facility control system of a computer room (cooling room) equipped with air-conditioning facilities for air-cooling the computer room in which a large number of information processing units are installed, an air-conditioner monitoring and controlling unit calculates a temperature sensitivity coefficient of each information processing unit, and that of each air conditioner, and then determines discharge air temperature of each air conditioner by use of the temperature sensitivity coefficients in such a manner that the sum of squares of a deviation of a change in discharge air temperature of each information processing unit becomes the smallest, and in such a manner that the sum total of the power consumption of the individual air conditioners becomes the smallest. Moreover, a calorific value of each information processing unit is determined in such a manner that the sum total of the power consumption of the individual air conditioners becomes the smallest. The air-conditioner monitoring and controlling unit instructs each individual air conditioner to adjust the discharge air temperature thereof to the calculated value. Next, the information-processing-unit monitoring and controlling unit assigns a job (load) to each information processing unit on the basis of the calorific value of each information processing unit.This makes it possible to minimize the power consumption of the air-conditioning facilities with cooling air temperature conditions, which are required by each information processing unit disposed in the computer room, satisfied. Moreover, by calculating a ratio of a load placed on each information processing unit, the power consumption of the computer room as a whole can be reduced in cooperation with a monitoring and controlling unit on the information processing unit side.
