    • A received signal includes a plurality of user signals, the plurality of user signals including at least a first user signal and a second user signal. The first user signal corresponds to first user data that has been modulated independently of second user data corresponding to the second user signal. At least one of the first user signal or the second user signal is encoded with a finite state machine encoder independently of the other of the first user signal and the second user signal. The received signal is demodulated, wherein demodulating the received signal includes calculating distances between (i) each transmit symbol in the received signal and (ii) expected symbol values, wherein each expected symbol value corresponds to user data for multiple users including the first user and the second user. User data in the received signal including the first user data and the second user data is decoded based on the calculated distances.

    • Systems and methods for performing efficient blind decoding. A first plurality of decision metrics corresponding to a first repetition of periodic decoding information is stored. The first plurality of decision metrics is grouped into sequential portions. A plurality of combined versions of the sequential portions is stored into combining buffers arranged in sequence. Each combined version is associated with a different sequence of timing information. A first of the plurality of combined versions stored in a first of the combining buffers is combined with a second version of a second plurality of decision metrics that corresponds to a second repetition of the periodic decoding information. The second version is associated with timing information adjacent in the timing information sequence to the timing information associated with the first combined version. The data is decoded based on information in the combining buffers.

    • In accordance with the teachings described herein, systems and methods are provided for calibrating DC offset in a receiver. A DC calibration circuit may be used that is configured to remove DC offset from a digital multi-carrier modulated (MCM) signal that includes a sequence of MCM symbols. The DC calibration circuit may include an accumulator and a compensator. The accumulator may be used to determine an estimated DC offset of a current MCM symbol in the sequence of MCM symbols. The compensator may be used to remove the estimated DC offset from a next MCM symbol in the sequence of MCM symbols. The accumulator may also be used to receive a plurality of digital samples that comprise the current MCM symbol and to determine the estimated DC offset by calculating an average of the plurality of digital samples.

    • A system including a control module and a correlation module. The control module receives signals, including subcarriers having frequencies in a frequency band, via a plurality of antennas, and divides the frequency band into sub-bands each including a plurality of the subcarriers. The correlation module generates sets of correlation values by correlating symbols in the sub-bands with a plurality of preamble sequences. A set of correlation values is generated for one of the plurality of antennas and is generated based on the preamble sequences. The control module generates sums by adding selected correlation values from the sets. The selected correlation values in a sum are generated respectively for the plurality of antennas and are generated based on one of the preamble sequences. The control module detects a preamble sequence in the signals by determining whether a largest one of the sums is greater than or equal to a predetermined threshold.
