Each of the pixel electrodes is formed in correspondence with the sub-pixel. The common electrode is formed above the pixel electrodes and has a plurality of slits. At least a portion of the slits in each of the sub-pixels are parallel to one another and include a continuous portion that extends in a straight line over the plurality of sub-pixels included in one pixel of the pixels and arranged adjacent to one another. Extending directions of the continuous portion of adjacent pixels are different from each other.

The plurality of slits at least partly overlap each of the pixel electrodes in plan view.
