The method comprises presenting, in a user interface, a pathway for use in treating a patient with a disease and including a combination of therapeutic and diagnostic pathway elements including an integration of diagnostic, radiation, chemotherapy, surgical and other elements. The method further comprises augmenting the pathway including providing controls for accessing additional information associated with a given pathway element, augmenting pathway elements to include indicators for pricing, efficacy and/or toxicity of a treatment associated with a given treatment element, and augmenting the pathway with a connection to another pathway including providing a link to another pathway at a point in a given pathway that provides information for a related pathway. The method further comprises presenting an augmented pathway to a patient or treating physician.

    • A turbogenerator having a gas turbine engine powering generator and a cooling system and an annular heat exchanger powered by a fan disposed across an outer fan duct of the engine. Fan variable inlet and outlet guide vanes may be used to vary power between the fan and the generator which are drivenly connected to a low pressure turbine. Inner and outer portions separated by a rotating shroud of the fan are disposed in annular inner and outer fan ducts respectively. A directed energy weapon may be powered by the generator and cooled by the cooling system. A refrigeration apparatus may be operably disposed between the annular heat exchanger and the directed energy weapon for cooling the directed energy weapon and conditioning power electronics for the weapon. The refrigeration apparatus may include a vapor cycle cooling system and a cold storage containing a phase change material.

    • Disclosed are a method and a system for detecting multiple, simultaneous touches on a touch-sensitive screen of a computing device. The hardware that controls the touch screen performs two measurements to locate a touch location on the screen. If there is a single touch, then the two measurements are equal. A non-zero difference indicates multiple touches and is correlated with the spread of locations simultaneously touched on the screen. If the difference is greater than a set threshold, then an indication is given of multiple touches. The user is warned against multiple touches, and input from the screen is ignored as long as multiple touches are detected. For some embodiments, when multiple touches are detected, the invention also tries to indicate the boundary of the set of locations simultaneously touched. The boundary is used to interpolate the intended single touch from the locations of all the touches.

    • A medication injector apparatus such as an injection pen. The injection pen includes a resettable, cartridge plunger drive assembly including an axially floating nut, a cartridge plunger engaging screw, and a drive clutch movable with the nut and which when rotated causes the screw to screw through the nut. When a cartridge assembly is mounted to the pen base, the floating nut and drive clutch are shifted proximally such that the drive clutch is in torque transmitting engagement with a rotatable drive member of the pen, such that rotation of that drive member results in drive screw advancement through the nut in the distal direction. When the cartridge assembly is not mounted to the pen base, the floating nut and drive clutch are biased distally to disengage the drive clutch from torque transmitting engagement with the rotatable drive member and to thereby allow the drive screw to be reset proximally through the nut to a position more retracted within the pen base. The injection pen also may include an injection clicker assembly having a collar arranged coaxially on a drive sleeve and which oscillates axially on the drive sleeve that rotates during medication dispensing to provide an audible clicking sound that indicates injecting use of the pen. The injection pen also may include a doseable quantity identifier that uses a rotational matrix and a sensor for electrically sensing the arrangement of the dose setting mechanism of the pen, which identifier may be part of a therapeutic dose indicating system that utilizes a cartridge recognizer to recognize a concentration of medication so as to allow an automatic determination of a therapeutic dose. The injection pen further may include an assembly for selectively rotating a drive sleeve of the pen, which assembly has a dial that rotates out during dose setting and which translates in without rotation during dose injecting.
