    • An interactive device having time synchronization capability is provided. In one embodiment, the interactive device has a computer processor that stores an internal clock. The computer processor may be preprogrammed to generate announcements based on a particular time of the internal clock. A user may input and adjust the time of the internal clock. In another embodiment, a setup module is provided which includes a computer processor that stores a setup time. The setup module establishes a connection with an interactive device, and time synchronizes the interactive device such that the internal clock of the interactive device is running the same time as the setup module. The setup module is capable of synchronizing the internal clock of multiple interactive devices, despite the interactive devices being programmed on separate occasions. The interactive device may be synchronized by the setup module via a hard-wired connection or wireless means.

    • An animation device is provided for generating movements of limbs and extremities of an animated figure. The device includes a single motor coupled to a gear box assembly. A first drive axle, rotatable about a first axis, is coupled to the gear box assembly. A second drive axle, rotatable about a second axis and oriented substantially perpendicular to the first drive axle, is also coupled to the gear box assembly. A gear train assembly is coupled to a lower end of the second drive axle and an output drive shaft is coupled to the gear drain assembly. The output drive shaft is rotatable about a third axis oriented parallel to and offset from the second axis. A left cam is coupled to a left end of the first drive axle and a right cam is coupled to a right end of the first drive axle, both of which are configured for radial movement about the first drive axle when the motor is activated. A middle cam is coupled to a middle section of the second drive axle, and is configured for radial movement about the second drive axle when the motor is activated. And, a lower cam is coupled to the output drive shaft, and is configured for radial movement about the output drive shaft when the motor is activated.

    • A sensor for use in an interactive electronic device. The sensor comprises a base member having at least one recess formed therein which is partially defined by a peripheral wall thereof. Disposed within the peripheral wall of the base member is at least one switch. Also disposed within the recess is a trigger ball which is freely movable about the peripheral wall of the base member. The sensor is operative to generate at least two different states corresponding to respective positions of the sensor relative to a reference plane. The movement of the sensor relative to the reference plane facilitates the movement of the trigger ball within the recess, with one state being generated when the trigger ball is in contact with the switch and another state being generated when the trigger ball is not in contact with the switch.
