    • A system for creating a dictionary for speech synthesis is provided. The system has a first dictionary for speech synthesis composed of an aggregation of dictionary data necessary for creating synthesized speech corresponding to an utterance target sentence, and creates, from the first dictionary for speech synthesis, a second dictionary for speech synthesis with a fewer data amount compared to the first dictionary for speech synthesis. The system includes: a first speech synthesis dictionary memory device that stores the dictionary data composing the first dictionary for speech synthesis; a second speech synthesis dictionary creating device that analyzes an utterance target sentence, checks frequency of occurrence of each word composing the utterance target sentence, decides words to be stored in the second dictionary for speech synthesis based on the frequency of occurrence, and creates the second dictionary for speech synthesis using the dictionary data stored in the first dictionary for speech synthesis corresponding to the decided words to be stored; and a speech synthesis device that creates synthesized speech corresponding to the utterance target sentence, using the second dictionary for speech synthesis.

    • A SIMD processor includes plural processor elements (PEs) each having a processing unit for data processing, a register for holding data to be processed or already processed by the processing unit, a data transfer bus interconnecting with other PEs, and a register controller for inputting a read or write signal to the register. Read and write processing steps in the processor are carried out by the register controller in response to the signals which are sent form the register controller and inputted into a register of specific processor elements responding to an addressing signal from an external interface. The processor is capable of transferring data directly to a specific processor element, thereby achieving higher speeds of data transfer and resultant data processing and makes flexible use of registers to thereby attain efficient data processing utilizing arbitrary combinations of the register depending on bit width of the data.

    • A vessel conveying system includes a dryer disposed within a first sterile chamber. If a vessel stays within the dryer for a prolonged length of time, it will be deformed under heat. Accordingly, the vessel is removed by a reject wheel and dropped onto a discharge chute disposed below. A downstream portion of the discharge chute is surrounded by a second sterile chamber, which is separate from the first mentioned sterile chamber, A glove mounted on the wall of the second chamber enables access to the discharge chute while maintaining the chute in a sterile condition. A door is mounted on the wall of the second chamber, and the rejected vessel is discharged through the door. The sterile chambers are disposed within a processing chamber. The pressure within the first chamber is controlled to be higher than the pressure (atmospheric pressure) within the processing chamber and the pressure within the second chamber is controlled to be lower than the atmospheric pressure. As a consequence, a vessel rejected by the reject wheel can be removed without destroying an internal ambience of the sterile chamber surrounds the reject wheel.
