    • The self-opening closure includes a pouring spout (10), which can be assembled leak-proof on a combipack or a container spout sealed with foil material, twist cap (9) and a self-opening sleeve (1) arranged inside the pouring spout, which can be made to rotate by the twist cap. The self-opening sleeve forms on its upper edge an indentation (4), which becomes smaller towards the bottom edge (6) and tapers off into the same. There are guiding means present on the outer side of the self-opening sleeve and on the inner side of the pouring spout so that the self-opening sleeve is guided downwards by rotation on the pouring spout. The indentation (4) lies partially inside the pouring spout and partially below the same after unscrewing of the cover cap and forms an air inlet channel, which results in a steady outpour of the liquid content of a combipack.

    • A breakdown spool is provided having a barrel and at least one flange formed separate from the barrel. The barrel has an insertion end that includes an annular ring spaced from the axial end and projected radially from the barrel winding surface. The flange includes a receiving channel for receiving the insertion end of the barrel to form the completed spool. The receiving channel includes a first portion for receipt of the end of the barrel and a second portion for receiving the annular ring. The second portion is recessed within the support surface such that the annular ring aligns with the support surface on the flange. A locking mechanism is provided for axially securing the insertion section of the barrel within the receiving channel of the flange.

    • A lid is provided for engagement with a projecting rim of an opening on a container. The lid includes a covering panel for closing the container opening and a skirt formed on a periphery of the cover and depending therefrom. The skirt overlaps with the container rim when the cover is positioned over the opening. The skirt includes a defined gap therein that is positioned between adjacent gap edges. A clasp is provided on the periphery of the cover adjacent the defined gap. The clasp pivots between an open position and an engaged position. In the engaged position, the clasp engages the gap edges and draws the edges toward one another. The drawing of the gap edges moves the skirt inwardly towards the container rim. The lid may further include a flexing portion defining a connection between the cover panel and the skirt. The engagement of the clasp on the skirt causes compliance of the flexing portion and a corresponding axial movement of the skirt relative to the cover panel.
