    • As described herein, a sound pickup for musical cymbals includes an integrated assembly attachable to a cymbal stand. The integrated assembly includes a plurality of microphones arranged and electrically connected such that the resulting amplified sound is of optimal quality and of relatively constant loudness regardless of cymbal tilt. In one embodiment, two microphones are used, with the signal phase from one microphone being inverted prior to combination with the signal from the other microphone. The inversion is implemented using an inverter and serves to cancel signals that are in phase with one another and augment signals that are out of phase with one another. This, along with suitable placement of the pickup, exploits the fact that the more desirable components of the cymbal's vibration at the inflection point of the cymbal are out of phase with each other, whereas the less-desirable components are in phase with each other.

    • A vehicle seat recliner assembly is provided. The assembly generally includes a base, a kneel latch, a first drive member, a support bracket and a carrier link. The kneel latch is attached to the base. The first drive member is supported on the kneel latch. The support bracket is located in a common plane with the base having a slot located therein. A recliner arm is pivotally coupled to the support bracket. The carrier link has a first end pivotally attached to the first drive member and a second end both pivotally and slidably attached to the slot in said support bracket. The carrier link is adapted to selectively displace the first drive member to either an ingress/egress position or a kneel position.

    • Translational bone fixation assemblies, kits containing such assemblies, and methods of use are described herein. The described assemblies may be used in spinal fusion procedures in which a damaged or diseased disc (or part of a disc) is removed from between a pair of vertebrae and a spinal fusion spacer is placed between the vertebrae. The assemblies may be applied to an anterior portion of the affected vertebrae to span the affected disc space, and may be fixed to the vertebrae using bone screws. The assemblies may function to maintain the vertebrae aligned during the initial period following fixation in which fusion of the spacer to the adjacent vertebrae occurs. The assemblies may also function to share some of the axial spinal load applied to the fusion spacer to prevent extreme subsidence of the spacer into the vertebral body, such as where the patient has poor bone quality. The assemblies may also act to prevent the spacer from being expelled from the disc space during the initial post-operative period. Finally, these assemblies may be used in other parts of the body where the advantages of the assemblies are desired or applicable.
