摘要： A pressure regulator is capable of automatically regulating the inlet water pressure to a compressed air foam system (CAFS), thereby allowing direct connection between a high-pressure water source, such as a hydrant, and the CAFS. The pressure regulator includes an inlet, a valve that regulates flow from the inlet, and an annular piston that circumscribes the inlet and which is linked to the valve. The relative area of the inlet and the piston determine the maximum pressure that may be attained at the CAFS water inlet, due to pressure on the piston forcing the valve closed.

A frame assembly supported by an axle and wheels carries two sets of fingerwheel hay rakes which are rotatable on an axis positioned transversely to the axle. A hitch assembly which is connected to a towing vehicle is pivotedly connected to the frame. A connecting linkage is provided between the hitch assembly and the frame and a power source is connected to the frame for rotating the wheel rakes about their axis and rotating the frame relative to the hitch assembly thereby rotating the rakes between a downward and outward rake position and an upward and inward transport position.

摘要： Apparatus for generating foam for use in fire fighting having two plates housed in a chamber which respectively introduce pressurized air and a water/surfactant solution between the two plates where foam is generated and emitted from an aperture on the side of the chamber. The pressurized water/soap solution enters the chamber through an orifice in one plate. Pressurized air enters the chamber through a number of channels bored through the other plate, such channels appearing in an annular grove which circumscribes the water inlet. The plates are provided with surfaces which are brought together to form a restricted area therebetween. The restricted area balances the pressure between the incoming water and the incoming air by achieving an equilibrium at some particular radius out from the center of the two plates. This equilibrium radius moves in and out from the center as necessary to keep the two pressures balanced. The apparatus also includes a pressure regulating system that automatically cuts off the flow of pressurized water and air when the foam dispensing nozzle is turned off.

摘要： A pressure regulator has a pressure chamber connected to an inlet flow area which receives liquid flow. As liquid flows into a forward chamber of the pressure chamber, pressure is exerted on the forward face of the piston, which in turn causes the piston to slide longitudinally through the pressure chamber. A bypass fluidically connects the forward pressure chamber and rear pressure chamber such that as the piston slides into the rear pressure chamber pressure increases at the rear pressure chamber, which in turn forces the piston to move forwardly, thus regulating flow out of the pressure chamber. A hand wheel is configured to turn a movable plate located inside the pressure chamber, with the movable plate configured to impede the piston from moving rearwardly. Pressure sensors and vents with a pressurized air source may be used to keep the pressure within a desired range.
