摘要： A digital voice communication apparatus having improved echo suppression includes a transmission gain detection circuit for detecting a near talker signal and a receiver gain detection circuit for detecting a far talker signal. An echo detecting circuit detects which of the near talker and far talker signals has a lesser value and suppresses the gain of the one detected to have the lesser value. A far talker suppressing circuit detects whether the most recent peak gain in this near talker signal is greater than a threshold and is greater than the gain of the far talker signal. If this condition exists the far talker signal is suppressed. A near talker signal suppressing circuit detects whether the most recent gain of the far talker signal is greater than a threshold and is greater than the gain of the near talker signal. If so, the gain of the near talker signal is suppressed.

The optical fibers that extend from the optical fiber splitter have one end connectorized and their spacing at the other end reduced, thereby eliminating components that were heretofore required. A method of making the fiber optic array includes interleaving the optical fibers to reduce the overall dimensions of the fiber optic array and the fiber optic splitter. A tool is used to reduce the spacing of the optical fibers in the fiber optic array.

摘要： A cable clamp assembly and a cable clamp method for a flat fiber optic cable are disclosed. The assembly includes a wedge-shaped outer shell with a bottom wall having a friction inner surface with a longitudinal central recess formed therein. The flat fiber optic cable resides within the interior of the outer shell and is supported by the friction inner surface. A shim having two parallel rows of protrusions fits within the interior of the outer shell with the protrusions being in contact with the fiber optic cable. The assembly includes a wedge insert having two outer ridges that substantially align with the two rows of protrusions. When the wedge insert matingly engages the outer shell, the outer ridges press down on the protrusions, which in turn press down on the fiber optic cable mainly at the locations where longitudinal dielectric strength members reside.
