The sub-meter device measure power characteristics related to usage of an appliance (or other device) within a HEM network and provides such data to a home energy controller or the like. The sub-meter device can include one or more sensors, such as a current transformer, Rogowski coil, shunt resistor, or hall effect sensor, for collecting data relating to at least one of real power consumption, reactive power consumption, line frequency, line voltage, power factor, leading/lagging voltage-current comparison, and apparent power, etc.

The controller can receive and process a signal from the associated utility indicative of current state of an associated utility. The controller operates the clothes washer in one of a plurality of operating modes, including at least a normal operating mode and an energy savings mode in response to the received signal. The controller is configured to change the power consuming functions by adjusting one or more of an operation schedule, an operation delay, an operation adjustment, and a selective deactivation of at least one of the one or more power consuming functions to reduce power consumption of the clothes washer in the energy savings mode.

摘要： An ozone detection system includes a source of sample gas containing a concentration of ozone. The system further includes a first airflow passageway for receiving a first sample of gas from the source. The first airflow passageway includes a catalytic scrubber to reduce ozone content in the sample gas and a second airflow passageway receives a second sample of gas from the source. A third airflow passageway results from the convergence of the first and second airflow passageways wherein the reduced sample gas and the unaltered sample gas are combined to form a diluted sample gas. A sensor is provided for sensing the ozone concentration in the diluted sample gas received from the third airflow passageway. A processor is provided operative to calculate the actual concentration of ozone in the sample gas as a function of the sensed concentration of the diluted sample.

The system includes a light source in optical communication with the optical pathway. The system further includes a first airflow passageway for receiving a first sample of gas from the source. The system further includes a sensor for sensing independently the light intensity of the sample of gas received from the first and second passageways. The system further includes a processor for receiving the light intensity data from the sensor and calculating the ozone concentration in the source of sample gas.
