摘要： A magnetic structure includes a first magnetic layer, a nonmagnetic insulating layer, a nonmagnetic adhesion layer disposed on the top surfaces of the first magnetic layer and the nonmagnetic insulating layer, and a second magnetic layer disposed on the nonmagnetic adhesion layer. The nonmagnetic insulating layer contains an oxygen atom. The nonmagnetic adhesion layer is composed of one element or a plurality of elements selected from the group consisting of Al, Si and nonmagnetic transition metal elements except Ru, and the bond enthalpy of a diatomic molecule composed of an atom of the one element or each of the plurality of elements and an oxygen atom is 400 kJ/mol or higher. The nonmagnetic adhesion layer has a thickness within a range of 0.3 to 0.8 nm. The first magnetic layer and the second magnetic layer are ferromagnetically coupled to each other.

摘要： The present invention relates to a perpendicular recording magnetic head. A main magnetic pole film includes an electrode film and a plated magnetic film. The electrode film includes a Ru film and a conductive magnetic film, and the Ru film, which follows the shape of an inner wall surface of a recess formed in a first non-magnetic film, is adhered to the inner wall surface of the recess or a surface of a second non-magnetic film adhered thereto. The conductive magnetic film is adhered to a surface of the Ru film, thereby following the shape of the inner wall surface of the recess. 摘要： A method of manufacturing a magnetic head, including a magneto resistance effect (MR) element that reads a magnetic recording medium, is disclosed. A multilayer film is formed on a shield layer. Unnecessary portions of the multilayer film are removed from both sides of the MR element in a first direction orthogonal to a lamination direction of the multilayer film and parallel to the MR element surface facing the magnetic recording medium. An insulating layer is formed on a surface exposed by removal of the unnecessary portions. An integrated soft magnetic layer covering both sides of the MR element in the first direction and an upper side of the MR element is formed, thereby configuring a second shield layer. An anisotropy application layer is formed on the second shield layer, thereby providing exchange anisotropy to the soft magnetic layer, and magnetizing the soft magnetic layer in a predetermined direction.

The magnetic head according to one embodiment includes: an MR element, formed with multilayer films, of which an electrical resistance changes according to an external magnetic field; a first shield layer that is disposed on a lower side in an lamination direction of the MR element; a second shield layer that is disposed on an upper side in the lamination direction of the MR element, and that applies voltage to the MR element together with the first shield layer; and side shield layers that are disposed on both sides of the MR element in a truck width direction. 摘要： A magnetic head includes a medium facing surface that faces a surface of a recording medium, a write head section, a contact sensor that detects contact of the medium facing surface with the surface of the recording medium, and a heat sink adjacent to the contact sensor. The write head section has a magnetic pole that produces a write magnetic field for writing data on the recording medium. The contact sensor and the heat sink have respective end faces located in the medium facing surface. The contact sensor varies in resistance in response to temperature variations, and is to be energized. The heat sink includes an intermediate layer made of a nonmagnetic metal material, and two ferromagnetic layers made of a metal-based magnetic material, the two ferromagnetic layers being disposed with the intermediate layer therebetween, and being antiferromagnetically exchange-coupled to each other via the intermediate layer.
