摘要： A highly reliable light-emitting device is provided. A lighting device or a display device with a high level of safety and without an exposed electrode is provided. A lighting device or a display device with high layout flexibility is provided. A light-emitting system or a display system to which the light-emitting device or the display device can be applied is provided. An electrode for receiving power and a rectifier circuit are provided in a light-emitting device including an organic EL element and arranged so as to face an electrode for transmitting power, whereby alternating-current power is supplied to the light-emitting device. The alternating-current power is rectified by the rectifier circuit to direct-current power so that the organic EL element in the light-emitting device is driven.

摘要： It is an object to provide a display having high visibility and a transflective type liquid crystal display device having a reflection electrode having a concavo-convex structure formed without especially increasing the process. During manufacturing a transflective liquid crystal display device, a reflection electrode of a plurality of irregularly arranged island-like patterns and a transparent electrode of a transparent conductive film are layered in forming an electrode having transparent and reflection electrodes thereby having a concavo-convex form to enhance the scattering ability of light and hence the visibility of display. Furthermore, because the plurality of irregularly arranged island-like patterns can be formed simultaneous with an interconnection, a concavo-convex structure can be formed during the manufacturing process without especially increasing the patterning process only for forming a concavo-convex structure. It is accordingly possible to greatly reduce cost and improve productivity.

摘要： To provide a semiconductor device including an RFID which can transmit and receive individual information without checking of the remaining charge of a battery or a replacing operation of the battery in accordance with deterioration over time of the battery for driving, and can maintain an excellent state for transmission and reception of individual information even when power of a radio wave or an electromagnetic wave from outside is insufficient. A battery (also described as a secondary battery) is provided as a power supply for supplying power to the RFID. Then, when power which is obtained from a signal received from outside is larger than predetermined power, its surplus power is stored in the battery; and when the power which is obtained from the signal received from outside is smaller than the predetermined power, power which is obtained from the battery is used for the power for driving.

摘要： A semiconductor device has a non-volatile memory cell including a write transistor which includes an oxide semiconductor and has small leakage current in an off state (off-state current) between a source and a drain, a read transistor including a semiconductor material different from that of the write transistor, and a capacitor. Data is written or to the memory cell by applying a potential to a node where one of a source electrode and drain electrode of the write transistor, one electrode of the capacitor, and a gate electrode of the read transistor are electrically connected to one another so that the predetermined amount of charge is held in the node. The memory window width is changed by 2% or less, before and after 1×109 times of writing.

摘要： A conductive shield covering a semiconductor integrated circuit prevents electrostatic breakdown of the semiconductor integrated circuit (e.g., malfunction of a circuit and damage to a semiconductor element) due to electrostatic discharge. Further, with use of a pair of insulators between which the semiconductor integrated circuit is sandwiched, a highly reliable semiconductor having resistance can be provided while achieving reduction in the thickness and size. Moreover, also in the manufacturing process, external stress, or defective shapes or deterioration in characteristics resulted from electrostatic discharge are prevented, and thus the semiconductor device can be manufactured with high yield.

摘要： In an active matrix liquid crystal display device, the driver of a gate signal line is provided with a low-supply-voltage drive section and a high-supply-voltage drive section. A level shifter circuit in the high-supply-voltage drive section is made up of two CMOS circuits, to which a supply voltage Vdd2 (high-voltage power supply) is applied. Also, to two n-channel TFWs Tr3 and Tr7 in the level shifter circuit is applied a bias voltage Vdd1 (low-voltage power supply) which is a supply voltage different from the above supply voltage. This structure can prevent a high load from being exerted on only one n-channel TFT, thereby being capable of making the withstand voltage high.
