    • The capacity to measure nanoscale features rapidly and accurately is of central importance for the monitoring of manufacturing processes in the production of computer integrated circuits. It is known that far-field scattered light requires a priori sample information in order to reconstruct nanoscale information such as is required in semiconductor metrology. Parameters of interest include, for example, trench depth, duty cycle, wall angle and oxide layer thickness. We describe a scatterometry apparatus and method that uses unconventional polarization states in the pupil of a high NA objective lens, and refer to this as focused beam scatterometry, in which the illumination consists of a focused field with a suitably tailored, spatially-varying polarization distribution. We describe how four or more parameters can be measured and distinguished with an accuracy consistent with the needs laid out in the semiconductor roadmap.

    • Embodiments of the present invention provide a handheld shaving apparatus with a razor head coupled to a body of the apparatus and employing an independent suspension system, which allows the user to maintain control of the razor head while also allowing the head to move in a generally linear fashion to accommodate surface features and imperfections. Further embodiments provide a handheld shaving apparatus with a razor head and body that collectively include one or more biasing mechanisms that permit the razor head to move in an axial and/or generally linear direction while resisting substantial lateral movement of the razor head, reducing the potential for lateral slicing by the razors.

    • A spirally wound tube for wrapping textiles or other materials thereon. The tube has an identification feature. The tube is made by spirally winding a number of plies together. The outermost ply defines a groove that substantially extends spirally along the length of the tube. The groove is for containing an identification marking for identifying the textile or other material wrapped onto the tube. In particular, the tube may include an identification stripe that extends along the groove. The identification stripe contains a marking system or identification markings to indicate the type or nature of the textile material wrapped on the tube. The marking system may include the color or colors of the stripe, or patterns, codes, readable indicia, or any combination of markings on the stripe.

    • A method for bridging traffic over a network includes receiving, at stations that are coupled to the network, forwarding information for remote devices that are coupled to the network via the stations. The forwarding information associates a remote address of each remote device with an address of one of the stations. Each station that receives the forwarding information stores the forwarding information in a forwarding database. The method also includes receiving traffic at a first station from a first remote device that is coupled to the first station. The traffic includes a destination address that is a remote address of a second remote device that is coupled to a second station of the network. Furthermore, the method includes identifying an address of the second station that is associated with the remote address of the second remote device in the forwarding database. The method also includes communicating the traffic directly to the second station using the identified address.
