    • The present invention provides a needle assembly (1) for a drug delivery device, comprising a needle hub (25) in which a needle (15) is fixedly mounted, the needle (15) extending along a reference axis and comprising a needle body with a lumen and a distal needle end portion adapted for insertion through a skin layer, a needle shield (12) axially displaceable relative to the needle hub (25) between an extended position in which the distal needle end portion is covered and a retracted position in which the distal needle end portion is exposed, the nee-dle shield (12) being biased towards the extended position, and an elastomeric plug member (10) fitted tightly around a portion of the needle (15), the plug member (10) comprising a self-sealing front section (10.4) and being axially displaceable along the needle body be-tween a proximal plug position in which the distal needle end portion is exposed and a distal plug position in which the distal needle end portion is covered and the lumen is sealed by the self-sealing front section (10.4), wherein the needle shield (12) and the plug member (10) comprise mutually interactable engagement members (12.1, 12.4, 10.5) configured to ensure displacement of the plug member (10) from the proximal plug position to the distal plug position in response to a displacement of the needle shield (12) from the retracted posi-tion to the extended position.

The shield (220) is adapted to be in a locked distal position, an unlocked distal position and an unlocked proximal position, and the cleaning assembly (230) is adapted to be configured in (i) an open configuration, wherein a gap is provided between an outer surface of the cannula (210) and the cleaning assembly (230) to allow adjustment of the relative axial position between the cleaning assembly and the cannula, (ii) a closed configuration, wherein the cleaning assembly (230) is configured to provide contact with the outer surface of the cannula to enable cleaning of the cannula. The actuation member (222) is adapted to deform and thereby operate the cleaning assembly (230) between the open and the closed configuration, in response to turning the shield between the unlocked and the locked configuration. The needle assembly (200) is adapted to enable cleaning of the cannula (210), when the shield (220) is in the locked distal position, and to allow exposure of the cannula (210), when the shield (220) is in the unlocked distal position.

    • The present invention relates to an injection device for injecting a pharmaceutical liquid drug containing a preservative. The injection device comprises a housing (1) supporting a cartridge (20) having an interior chamber (21) holding the pharmaceutical preservative containing liquid drug to be injected, and a needle cannula (10) having a front part (11) and a back part (12), which back part (12) is adapted to be in liquid communication with the interior chamber (21) of the cartridge (20). The injection device is further provided with a telescopic needle covering shield (30) which distally is provided with a reservoir (31) which holds a liquid containing the same preservatives as in the pharmaceutical preservative containing liquid drug contained in the interior chamber of the cartridge. The telescopic needle covering shield (30) is telescopic movable in relation to the needle cannula (10) by a first resilient member between a first position and a second position. In the first position, the tip (13) of the front part (11) of the needle cannula (10) is maintained inside the reservoir (31), and in the second position, the tip (13) of the front part (11) of the needle cannula (10) is located outside the reservoir (31) and distally to the reservoir (31). The tip (13) of the needle cannula (10) is thus cleaned by the preservatives in the reservoir (31) between subsequent injections.

    • The present invention relates to a drug delivery device for expelling a dose of drug from a held cartridge and that defines a distal drug outlet end and an opposite proximal end. The drug delivery device comprises: a distal housing component (110) holding a cartridge (113) comprising a liquid drug and a piston slideable arranged therein in an axial direction, and a proximal housing component (101) housing a dose setting and expelling mechanism comprising a piston rod for exerting a force on the piston of the cartridge (113) in a distal direction for expelling a dose. The distal housing component (110) and the proximal housing component (101) are displaceably arranged in axial direction relative to each other for reducing an axial distance between the piston rod (120) and the piston of the cartridge (113). One of the distal housing component (110) and the proximal housing component (101) comprises a threaded adjustment component (103) being held at an axial fixed location on said one of the distal housing component (110) and the proximal housing component (101) and defining a first thread (103b) being in threaded engagement with a second thread (110b) defined by the other of the distal housing component (110) and the proximal housing component (101). After displacement the threaded adjustment component (103) is rotatably fixated so that the adjustment component (103) cannot be rotated without the use of a tool.
