摘要： A two wire serial bus is connected between different circuit boards in a complex electrical system. The two wire serial bus may be used to receive status information about each of the circuit boards in the system. A master control processor on one of the circuit boards controls which of the other circuit boards are active on the serial bus. Each of the non-master circuit boards includes a series of switches that electrically isolate or connect portions of the two wire serial bus from one another. Through the series of switches, both the master control processor and processors local to each of the other circuit boards may simultaneously access different portions of the serial bus.

One of the master controllers acts as an active master and the other master controllers act as standby masters. The active master commences a bus cycle that includes an address interval and a data interval, provides a destination address on the corresponding bus during the address interval, and transmits or receives a command or data during the data interval. The slave controllers connect to the bus, detect commencement of the bus cycle, sample the destination address from the bus a predetermined amount of time after commencement of the address interval, and transmit or receive a command or data during the data interval.

摘要： A combined door carrier and hanging device for transporting and hanging a door panel is provided. The combined device is generally defined by an elongated carrier structure having a first end and a second end, and includes a wheel supporting chassis to which a pair of beams are mounted and spaced apart to define an elongated slot. The chassis further supports a plurality of floor engaging foot members at the second end, a vise mechanism at the second end, and an axle having a plurality of floor engaging wheels at the first end. More specifically, the elongated slot is adapted to closely receive a door panel across its thickness, wherein one of the pair of beams is rigidly attached the chassis at the first end, but is free to flex at the second end to facilitate clamping of a door panel in the slot. The vise mechanism is attached to the chassis at the second end, which vise when operated compresses the second end of one beam moving the beam toward the other beam, thereby narrowing the slot and hence clamping upon a panel placed therein.

摘要： The present invention is directed to the creation of optical waveguiding devices from standard optical fibers by the creation of zones of permanently altered refractive index characteristics therein. A high intensity femtosecond laser beam is focused at a predetermined target region in the fiber so as to soften the glass material at the target region. After aligning the focal region with the target region in the fiber there will be relative movement between the focal region and the fiber, which has the effect of sweeping the focal region across the fiber in a predetermined path, so as to create a secondary waveguide path. A portion of the light traveling along the core is removed from the core along the secondary waveguide path such that the device can be utilized as an attenuator, an optical tap, or a polarimeter.
