摘要： A method for forming the alignment films on the substrate and a pixel structure of a liquid crystal display are disclosed. The pixel structure comprises a plurality of pixel units arranged in arrays. Each of the pixel units comprises a first substrate, a second substrate, two first alignment films and two second alignment films. The first alignment film is different from the second alignment film. The second substrate is disposed opposite to the first substrate. The two first alignment films and the two second alignment films are individually disposed on the first substrate and the second substrate, while each of the first alignment films is disposed substantially opposite to one of the second alignment films. The method for forming the alignment films comprises the following steps: (1) forming a trench on the substrate to divide each of the pixel units into a first sub-pixel area and a second sub-pixel area, (2) forming the first alignment film on the first sub-pixel area of the substrate and then, (3) forming a second alignment film on the second sub-pixel area of the substrate at last.

In addition, in the liquid crystal layer, formed is a polymer into which a polymer component added to liquid crystal is polymerized, and which determines directions in which liquid crystal molecules tilt when voltage is applied. In the TFT substrate, formed are a sub picture element electrode directly connected to a TFT and a sub picture element electrode connected to the TFT through capacitive coupling. In each of these sub picture element electrodes, formed are slits extending in directions respectively at angles of 45 degrees, 135 degrees, 225 degrees and 315 degrees to the X axis.

摘要： The invention relates to a liquid crystal display based on an MVA mode of multi-division alignment in which alignment states of liquid crystal molecules having a negative dielectric anisotropy are made different from each other, and provides a liquid crystal display in which a drop in transmittance is suppressed and response characteristics are improved. The liquid crystal display is constructed so as to include a pair of substrates having a predetermined cell gap and arranged opposite to each other, vertical alignment films formed between the pair of substrates, a liquid crystal layer sealed between the vertical alignment films and having a negative dielectric anisotropy, an alignment regulating structural member arranged on at least one of the pair of substrates, for regulating a total alignment direction of liquid crystal molecules in the liquid crystal layer at a time of voltage application, and a cured material provided in the liquid crystal layer and including a liquid crystal skeleton for tilting the liquid crystal molecules.
