    • An aggregated physical layer (PHY) data unit for transmission of independent data for a plurality of stations via a communication channel is generated, wherein the aggregated PHY data unit includes i) a plurality of individual PHY data units corresponding to the plurality of stations and ii) information that indicates locations of at least some of the plurality of individual PHY data units within the aggregated PHY data unit. Beamforming is controlled while the aggregated PHY data unit is being transmitted. Transmission in an omnidirectional or quasi-omnidirectional manner is performed while the information that indicates locations of at least some of the plurality of individual PHY data units is transmitting. For each of the individual PHY data units, beamforming to the corresponding station is performed while at least some of the corresponding individual PHY data unit is being transmitted.

    • A system including a temporal key module, a nonce module, a security module, and an encryption module. The temporal key module generates a first temporal key used to encrypt a plurality of packets. The nonce module generates a nonce for each packet encrypted based on the first temporal key. Each nonce includes a packet number that is different than packet numbers associated with other nonces generated by the nonce module. The packet number is greater than N bits in length, where N is an integer greater than 40. The security module determines when the packet number included in the nonce generated by the nonce module is greater than or equal to a predetermined threshold. The encryption module encrypts more than 2(N−1) packets using the first temporal key and the nonces without reusing a value of the packet number.

    • An indication that a network interface of a wireless communication device is in a low power state is received. Prior to receiving an indication that the network interface of the wireless communication device is no longer in the low power state, a data unit is received from the wireless communication device, wherein the data unit includes a request to transmit to the wireless communication device data for the wireless communication device that has been buffered while the wireless communication device is in the low power state. Responsive to the request, an indication of whether there is buffered data for the wireless communication device is transmitted. Additionally, when it is determined that there is buffered data for the wireless communication device, buffered data is transmitted to the wireless communication device.
