摘要： A general uterine manipulator 10 incorporates an elongated hollow tube 12 defining an internal passage 14. Tube 12 has opposite first and second ends 16 and 18, formed with internal threads T1 and T2; and a smooth continuous outer surface 20 of constant outer diameter. A first fitting comprising a tail screw 22 is screwed into thread T1 and a second fitting cervical screw 24 is screwed in thread T2. An inner manipulator rod 26 extends through the first fitting 22, tube 12, and second fitting 24. A range of alternate first and second fitting is provided. A forceps holder 70 is attachable to the tube 12 between ends 16 and 18. The manipulator 10 may also support a cervical funnel 90 and a plug 92.

The laparoscopic uterine manipulator assembly comprises a laparoscopic control device configured for insertion into the abdomen-pelvic cavity of a patient. The laparoscopic uterine manipulator assembly further comprises a uterine manipulator device, the uterine manipulator device configured for insertion and advancement through a vaginal and uterine cavity. A primary member of a device coupling mechanism of the uterine manipulator device is mechanically engaged with a secondary member of the device coupling mechanism of the laparoscopic control device, resulting in the construction of an assembly comprising the laparoscopic control device and the uterine manipulator device. Assembled, the laparoscopic uterine manipulator assembly allows an individual user to utilize the device to engage and reposition the patient's uterus in a manner that allows for the performance of a gynecological laparoscopic medical procedure for the maximum benefit of the patient.

摘要： A method for easing child birth and, more particularly, to a device for practicing the method for easing child birth and, most particularly, to a device for easing child birth controlled by the individual giving birth to the child. The device mechanically replaces a “manual” contact, which can be applied to the pelvis of a woman in labor, for the purpose of aiding the expulsion of the baby, and reduce the pain and discomfort associated with this process. The device mechanically compresses the ilium portion of the pelvis medially and posteriorly, simultaneously. The pressure applied by the device is under full control of the patient, so that pressure is applied slowly and progressively to a point of maximum comfort. The pressure is decreased immediately upon demand by the patient. The duration of the application of compression corresponds with the length of the contraction period for the woman.

The shaft includes multiple ruler markings printed along a portion of the shaft. The colpotomizer assembly includes a sleeve that includes a rotatable locking member configured to compress the shaft in a manner that locks the colpotomizer assembly in position along the shaft when the rotatable locking member is depressed against the shaft. The rotatable locking member includes a cam roller configured to compress the shaft when the rotatable locking member is depressed towards the shaft.

摘要： An apparatus and procedure for defining the area for a thermo-electric knife to perform a bloodless intrastromal abdominal hysterectomy procedure while minimizing damage to the pericervical ring. The apparatus is configured to be inserted into the center cavity of the cervix and uterus to engage the uterine wall. The apparatus comprises an elongate member having a first end configured to extend into the center cavity of the uterus and cervix, and a thermo-electric knife guide plate secured concentrically to the elongate member proximal to the second end of the member to define the area for dissection of connective tissue between the cervix and the pericervical ring by a thermo-electric knife. A barb is secured to the elongate member between the first end and the guide plate, and configured to engage the uterine wall so that upon removal of the apparatus when in use the barb becomes attached to the uterus sufficient to remove the uterus and cervix through the abdomen. At least one aperture in the guide plate is configured to permit the passage therethrough of a centering tube when in use, whereby the apparatus is configured to stabilize the thermo-electric knife during intrastromal abdominal hysterectomy procedure.

摘要： A medical clamp for holding a uterus includes a first and second curved plates that capture between them the major exterior walls of the uterus, and an operating handle having pivotally connected first and second actuating arms, each of which has a distal portion and a proximal portion with a grip for a user, whereby the distal portions are moved toward each other when the user moves the grips toward each other to capture the uterus between the plates. Ball-and-socket joints connect the distal handle portions of the actuating arms to respective plates. The ball-and socket joints enable rapid positioning of the clamp on the uterus to arrest emergency postpartum hemorrhaging, assist in exerting pressure on the uterus over the entire extent of the plates, facilitate manipulation of the uterus using the clamp, and permit other surgical interventions to be performed with the clamp in place.

The system and method allows a surgeon to perform an intra-abdominal procedure without the need to position surgical tools inside of the body cavity. Additional surgical ports are not necessary as the magnetized device allows the surgeon to retract or position various objects within the abdomen.
