摘要： A manhole base assembly and a method for making the same employ a non-cylindrical, low-volume concrete base that is fully lined to protect the concrete against chemical and physical attack while in service. This lined concrete manhole base assembly may be readily produced using a modular manhole form assembly which can be configured for a wide variety of geometrical configurations compatible with, e.g., varying pipe angles, elevations and sizes. The form assembly is configurable to provide any desired angle and elevation for the pipe apertures to interface with various underground systems, and can be formed on-site to facilitate compatibility with existing structures. The assembly provides for flexible, modular construction of a wide variety of lined manhole base assemblies at minimal cost, reduced concrete consumption and reduced operational complexity. The modular nature of the production form assembly also facilitates reduced inventory requirements when various manhole base assembly geometries are needed.

The method further includes the step of aligning a second support member with respect to the second end of the honeycomb body. The method further includes the step of fixing the position of the honeycomb body with respect to the first support member and the second support member. The method still further includes the step of applying a cement mixture to the honeycomb body. An apparatus is provided that is configured to apply a cement mixture to a honeycomb body.

摘要： At the filling station of a dry cast pipe making machine for making pipe lined with a plastic liner, the liner is first placed over the core and then a plurality of spaced-apart, removable L-shaped plates are secured around the top edge of the core. One leg of each plate extends inside the core with the other leg extending downwardly over the top edge of the liner. The plates are removably held in place on the core by the use of a clamping device, such as a vise-grip, for example. Once the form is filled with concrete and ready for the pressure heading step, the downwardly extending legs of the plates serve as ‘shoehorns’ to guide the pressure header over the top of the liner and prevent damage to it. In addition, the plates will assist in centering the core within the jacket.

摘要： A method for manufacturing a honeycomb article with an after-applied skin includes fixing a honeycomb body between a first support member and a second support member of a skinning apparatus, the first support member positioned against a first end of the honeycomb body and the second support member positioned against a second end of the honeycomb body. A skin layer is applied to the honeycomb body by an applicator, where a first edge of the skin layer contacts the first support member and a second edge of the skin layer contacts the second support member. At least one of the first edge and the second edge of the skin layer is heated by a heat source before removing the honeycomb body with the applied skin layer from between the first and second support members.

摘要： A honeycomb structure includes a ceramic block and a sealing material layer. The ceramic block includes a plurality of honeycomb fired bodies each having a large number of cells longitudinally disposed substantially in parallel with one another with a cell wall between the cells, an adhesive layer for bonding side faces of the honeycomb fired bodies, and a cavity-holding member placed between the side faces of the honeycomb fired bodies. The sealing material layer is formed on a peripheral face of the ceramic block. The cavity-holding member includes a nonflammable material having Young's modulus of at least about 0.001 GPa and at most about 0.07 GPa.
