    • Provided is a pneumatic tire in which the performance is to be improved while suppressing an increase in the thickness by using a reinforcing material applicable to such an insert member or the like by which a target reinforcing performance can be attained while suppressing an increase in the thickness. Provided is a pneumatic tire including: a pair of bead portions 11; a pair of side wall portions 12; and a tread portion 13, and including a carcass layer 2 composed of at least one carcass ply extending toroidally between bead cores 1 embedded in the pair of bead portions respectively as a skeleton. A reinforcing layer 4 using a reinforcing material composed of a core/sheath-type composite fiber (C) in which a core portion is made of a high melting point polyolefin-based resin (A) having a melting point of 150° C. or higher and a sheath portion is made of a low melting point polyolefin-based resin (B) having a melting point of 80° C. or higher and lower than 150° C. is provided on at least the outside of the bead core in the tire radial direction.

    • A dewebbing unit and dip tank used in the treatment of tire cord fabric with a liquid coating containing an agent for increasing the bond between the cords of the fabric and rubber material used in the production of tires. The dip tank has a pair of weirs which the liquid coating is caused to overflow for contact with the tire cord fabric which is directed across the weirs. The dewebbing unit includes a chamber in which fluid, under pressure, is alternately passed through the fabric from opposing sides of the fabric to simultaneously vibrate the fabric and pass air through the pores of the fabric.

    • An aqueous alkaline dispersion of a rubbery vinyl pyridine copolymer, a stabilized colloidal silica sol, and a heat reactable resorcinol-formaldehyde resole, in certain amounts, is useful in forming an adhesive for bonding glass fiber reinforcing elements or cords to rubber compounds or stocks. After dipping the glass fiber cord in the one-step adhesive dip, the coated cord is heated to dry it and heat cure or heat set the adhesive on the cord. Thereafter, the adhesive containing glass fiber cord is combined or laminated (calendered) with a curable rubber compound and the resulting assembly is cured to form a composite in which the glass fiber cord is bonded to the rubber by means of said adhesive.
