    • An illuminated cover and a method of making such a cover. An electroluminescent foil overlies a thin, rigid support base, and an insulating foil overlies the electroluminescent foil. A first opening allows insertion of an electrical connector for the electroluminescent foil. A second opening allows insertion of a control key of a device covered by the decorative cover. The covered electronic device further includes a printed circuit board having electronic components mounted on it, including the control key. A connector extends into the first opening to connect the electroluminescent foil to circuitry on the printed circuit board so as to provide electrical power to the electroluminescent foil. A graphic can be included between the electroluminescent foil and the insulating foil. The cover is made by a molding method.

    • An LED is fabricated with a composite layer including quantum dots (QDs), wherein the QDs are provided in a silicone paste. A plurality of QD silicone paste reservoirs each contain a provided silicone paste with QDs of different wavelengths. Further, a silicone paste reservoir containing a clear silicone paste. A paste mixing chamber, in to which the QD paste reservoirs and the silicone paste reservoir supply their respective pastes, mixes together the pastes and form a mixed QD silicone paste. A silicone mixing and metering component receives the mixed QD silicone paste from the paste mixing chamber, and further receives A silicone and B silicone from a respective A silicone reservoir and a B silicone reservoir, measures, and mixes the mixed QD silicone paste with the A and B silicones to form a silicone polymer composite. A dispensing component receives to the silicone polymer composite from the mixing and metering component and dispenses the composite to a molding tool.

    • A manufacturing method of a housing having a luminescence surface for an electronic device is provided. The method includes the steps of providing an electroluminescent film; providing a molding device including an upper mold and a lower mold; conformally attaching the electroluminescent film to the upper mold and forming a predetermined space between the electroluminescent film and the lower mold; injecting a plastic material into the predetermined space by an in-mold decoration (IMD) injection molding process; and solidifying the plastic material to form the housing, such that the electroluminescent film is on a surface of the housing. The present invention also provides an electronic device including a body; a housing covering the body; and an electroluminescent film on a surface of the housing formed by an IMD injection molding process.
