摘要： A method of receiving and transporting solid waste includes providing a strong, disposable waste container and a disposable pallet for supporting the container when the latter is loaded with waste. After loading, both the pallet and the container can be lifted onto a rear transporting section of a truck. In one version, the pallet and container are placed on a rear end section of the truck and moved to a forward position by a conveyor system. A forklift unit can be used to lift and move the container and pallet. In another version, the truck has movable sidewall members that can be moved from an upright position to a second position that allows the pallet and container to be loaded from a longitudinal side of the truck. For this method, the truck is equipped with a tiltable rear transporting section to allow the container and pallet to be dumped at the disposal site. In one version, this truck is tilted towards one longitudinal side in order to dump.

A body has a bottom, side walls, and a cover and defines an opening in a side wall. The chassis includes detachment and manipulation apparatus with the body being detachably mounted on the detachment and manipulation apparatus in communication with the opening for moving refuse thereto with the body in a collecting position. The detachment and manipulation apparatus is designed to move the body from the collecting position to a hauling position and to detach the body in the hauling position. A relatively large haul vehicle has a chassis with a plurality of body receiving frames mounted thereon positioned to receive the body from the collecting truck when the body is moved by the detachment and manipulation apparatus from the collecting position to the hauling position.

摘要： A refuse collection vehicle has a chassis, an hydraulic fluid reservoir mounted on the chassis, and a body tiltably supported upon the chassis. The body has two opposed side walls along the interior of which rails extend. A bifurcated partition has an upper part suspended from the rails and a lower part tiltably suspended from the upper part. A tilt cylinder is mounted on the partition upper part and operatively linked with the partition lower part. Means are provided for moving the partition along the rails within said body. An extend trombone hydraulic line provides fluid communication between one end of the tilt cylinder and the chassis mounted hydraulic reservoir and a retract trombone hydraulic line provides fluid communication between an opposite end of the tilt cylinder and the hydraulic reservoir. So constructed, the relative sizes of the forward and rear portion of the vehicle body may be altered and refuse separately discharged therefrom on an automated basis.
