摘要： There is provided a process liquid coating apparatus comprising: a recording medium conveyance unit configured to convey a recording medium; a coating roller configured to rotate in accordance with the conveyed recording medium to apply process liquid on a surface of the recording medium; a pressure roller configured to cause the coating roller to apply the process liquid on the surface of the recording medium by forming an abutment part for nipping and pressing the recording medium with the coating roller; and a winding member configured to form a bent conveyance path along which the recording medium is bent with respect to a conveyance direction so that the recording medium is wound around the surface of the pressure roller, wherein the winding member is disposed adjacent to the pressure roller.

摘要： An apparatus for rewinding paper into rolls discontinuously without stopping unwinding comprising an unwinding device of at least two plies of paper arranged in series with an embossing device of the at least two plies and with a rereeling machine which stops when a log is completed, wherein a gluing device of the at least two plies of paper and an build up device of the at least two glued plies for feeding the rereeling machine are associated with the embossing device, with it being foreseen that the build up device is actuated at each stopping of the rereeling machine for all of the time taken to discharge a finished log and for the insertion of a core so that the devices upstream of the rereeling machine do not stop and thus the flow of paper is not interrupted.

摘要： A strip storage arrangement with a strip storage unit in strip treatment plants. The strip storage unit is divided into two or more storage sections. Each strip storage section has its own tension drive. Speed-controlled intermediate strip drives are arranged between the storage sections. The intermediate strip drives apply the bending and friction forces of the preceding storage section, so that the tension input value of the first loop strand of each storage section is equal. The resulting strip storage unit can have any storage capacity and is of simple and operationally safe construction.

摘要： A transport apparatus includes a correction mechanism, a detector, and a meandering attenuator. The detector detects a widthwise position of elongated strip-shaped printing paper. The correction mechanism corrects the widthwise position of the printing paper, based on a detection result from the detector. The meandering attenuator is disposed upstream or downstream of the correction mechanism as seen in a transport direction. The meandering attenuator includes a plurality of attenuation rollers rotating while being in contact with the printing paper. When the printing paper passes over the attenuation rollers, the meandering of the printing paper is attenuated by the friction between the attenuation rollers and the printing paper. Thus, meandering exceeding the correction capability of the correction mechanism and new meandering occurring in the correction mechanism are attenuated.

摘要： A splice is made, between a tail end of first web and a lead end of a second web coiled about an unwind axis, by winding a portion of the first web adjacent the tail end of the first web about a splicing roll mounted for rotation about a splice roll axis oriented substantially parallel to the unwind axis, and then joining the tail end to the lead end by compressing an adhesive between an inside surface of the tail end and an outer surface of the second web. Compression of the adhesive is accomplished by urging the splice roll against the coiled second web while the coiled second web is rotating about the unwind axis in an unwind direction and the splicing roll is rolling about the splice roll axis in a direction opposite to the unwind direction.

摘要： In a web handling apparatus for continuously supplying a running web to a web-consuming machine using a main accumulator to provide uninterrupted feed of the web during splicing of the trailing end of an expiring roll to the leading end of a ready roll, an improved ready-roll acceleration technique uses a supplemental accumulator disposed between the ready roll and the splicing head to enable the ready roll to be accelerated prior to completion of the splice. This technique permits the use of a smaller main accumulator and/or increased running speeds. In fact, the total storage capacity of the main and supplemental accumulators can be less than that of the single accumulator of conventional apparatus of this type. Furthermore, the running roll can be slowed without adverse consequence so as to reduce web tension upsets. The invention is also useful in web winder/splicer applications.
