摘要： Disclosed is a recording apparatus for conveying a recording sheet such as a long sheet with high precision without decreasing productivity even if a back tension occurs during conveyance of the recording sheet. The recording apparatus (100) sets a first acceleration period in which the conveying speed is increased up to a first predetermined speed before a leading end of the roll paper (101) reaches a detecting position of the leading end detecting sensor (129) with the roll paper (101) being nipped by the upstream side nip roller (125) and the conveying belt (121). Further, the recording apparatus (100) sets a first constant speed period in which the conveying speed is kept constant at the first predetermined speed before the leading end of the roll paper (101) reaches the detecting position until the leading end of the roll paper (101) is nipped by the downstream side nip roller (126) and the conveying belt (121). Furthermore, the recording apparatus (100) sets a second acceleration period in which the conveying speed is increased up to a second predetermined speed before the recording by the recording head (130) is started after the leading end of the roll paper (101) is nipped by the downstream side nip roller (126) and the conveying belt (121).

The sheet feeding device includes: a loading member on which sheets are loaded; a lift unit that moves the loading member up and down; a position detection unit that detects a lift-up position to which the loading member moves up; a sheet detection unit that detects that a sheet at an uppermost position of the sheets loaded on the loading member has moved up to a feeding position by an upward movement of the loading member; a feeding roller that feeds a sheet at the feeding position; and an estimation unit that estimates the number of remaining sheets loaded on the loading member, based on a combination of detection results of the sheet detection unit and the position detection unit.

摘要： A recording material cartridge is attached to an image recording apparatus. A main body stores the recording material to be used in an image recordation process on a recording sheet by the image recording apparatus. A storage stores residual amount information indicating a current residual amount of the recording material. An interface receives consumption amount information. A reduction counter circuit subtracts a consumption amount based on the consumption amount information from the current residual amount to acquire the updated residual amount, and updates the residual amount information in the storage so that the residual amount information indicates the updated residual amount in a case where the consumption amount is larger than zero. The reduction counter maintains the residual amount information in the storage so that the residual amount information keeps on indicating the current residual amount in a case where the consumption amount is smaller than or equal to zero.

The displacement amount calculation part calculates the amount of displacement in the position of the base material in the transport direction on the basis of the first detection result (R1) and the second detection result (R2). Accordingly, the amount of displacement in the position of the base material in the transport direction can be detected without depending on images such as register marks.

摘要： A plate-like detection plate portion that undergoes strain due to contact with an object is used for detecting the presence of an object that can come into contact with a liquid ejecting unit with relative movement between a medium and the liquid ejecting unit, and is provided with a piezoelectric film sensor that outputs an electric signal corresponding to strain of the detection plate portion. The piezoelectric film sensor includes a detection film portion in which a piezoelectric element that causes a voltage change corresponding to the strain is arranged, and an output circuit portion that converts the voltage change of the detection film portion into an electric signal and outputs the electric signal. The output circuit portion is provided on a second plate surface, which is a rear surface of a first plate surface facing the medium, of the detection plate portion.

摘要： This disclosure provides a high precision measurement system for rapid, accurate determination of height of a deposition source relative to a deposition target substrate. In one embodiment, each of two transport paths of an industrial printer mounts a camera and a high precision sensor. The cameras are used to achieve registration between split transport axes, and the positions of the high precision sensors are each precisely determined in terms of xy position. One of the high precision sensors is used to measure height of the deposition source, while another measures height of the target substrate. Relative z axis position between these sensors is identified to provide for precise z-coordinate identification of both source and target substrate. Disclosed embodiments permit dynamic, real-time, high precision height measurement to micron or submicron accuracy.
