摘要： In an apparatus and a method for synchronizing a roll-to-roll transfer device, the apparatus includes a thin-film, a first roller, a second roller, a first load sensing element and a control part. The thin-film is transferred by the roll-to-roll transfer device. The first roller makes contact with a lower surface of the thin-film, and rotates with a rotational axis via a first rotational element. The second roller is disposed over the first roller, makes contact with an upper surface of the thin-film, and rotates with the rotational axis via a second rotational element. The first load sensing element senses a load of the first roller or a load of the second roller. The control part synchronizes a translational velocity of the first rotational element or the second rotational element based on the load sensed by the first load sensing element.

摘要： A meandering correction apparatus includes a transport mechanism, an orientation measurement part, a Young's modulus calculation part, a meandering prediction part and a meandering correction part. The transport mechanism transports an elongated strip-shaped base material in a longitudinal direction thereof along a transport path. The orientation measurement part measures fiber orientations of the base material in respective measurement regions on the transport path, the measurement regions being different in widthwise position from each other. The Young's modulus calculation part calculates Young's moduli of the base material for the respective measurement regions, based on the fiber orientations. The meandering prediction part predicts subsequent meandering of the base material, based on the Young's moduli, to output meandering prediction information. The meandering correction part corrects the widthwise position of the base material, based on the meandering prediction information. The meandering correction is made based on the fiber orientations of the base material. Thus, the widthwise position of the base material is corrected without depending on only edge sensors.

The assembly comprises a translation mechanism coupled to a contact member, a drive mechanism coupled to the translation mechanism and a position sensor for providing a signal indicative of the position of the contact member. The assembly is mounted within an imaging device so that the contact member is moved into bending contact with a cantilevered portion of a media sheet in the media path. The energy used to translate the contact member from a home position into the cantilevered portion of a media sheet in the media path to deflect the cantilevered portion is used to determine a weight of the media sheet.

摘要： A method using a media height sensor assembly for measuring a media stack in an imaging device. The assembly includes a support and drive and insertion assemblies mounted thereon. The insertion assembly includes a translateable plunger having a sensor and a translateable probe. At a home position, the sensor is actuated by a flag on the support placing a sensor output in a first state. During measurement, the drive assembly translates the insertion assembly toward a media stack and the sensor output changes to a second state and a counter is started. The probe initially encounters the media stack and translates in a direction opposite to that of the plunger. As the plunger reaches the media stack, the probe causes the sensor output to again change state stopping the counter. The insertion assembly is retracted to the home position where the flag causes the sensor output to change state.

The festooning device can include an articulated paddle that further increases the fill of product from edge to edge in the container. The movements of the shuttle arm, container, and/or articulated paddle are synchronized to reduce the travel distance that the individual components of the festooning device, avoid overthrows of material over the upper edge of the container at high operating speeds, and provide maximum fill of the container. Also provided are a system and a method using the festooning device.
