摘要： The present invention provides, in various embodiments, compositions and methods for strengthening glass without heat or chemical processing of the glass itself. The compositions of the present invention are emulsions comprising polymer colloid particles that are functionalized with an organosilicon compound. The polymer colloid particles can fill surface defects in the glass due to their size being smaller than the surface defects, and the functional groups thereon can react with the surface of the glass to anchor the particles in the defects.

摘要： Aqueous alkyd resin emulsion compositions and methods of applying them for providing an exceptionally durable film capable of imparting a gloss sheen to the substrate while simultaneously entrapping pigments, MYLAR or glitter flakes, or other low aspect ratio materials so that they might durably adhere to a variety of surfaces, including, but not limited to, urethane rubber, vehicle tires, and vinyl. The emulsion compositions comprise an alkyd resin, a mixture of alkyd resins, a mixture of alkyd resins and conventional latex resins, or a mixture of all or part of the above and silicone oils. The low aspect ratio materials component of the compositions may be comprised of any combination of various pigments, MYLAR or metallic flakes, or standard glitter flakes, all in a wide variety of sizes, colors and shapes. The emulsion compositions also optionally comprise thickeners, metallic driers, defoamers, and/or preservatives. The methods comprise applying the alkyd resin emulsion composition with low aspect ratio materials to a substrate surface.

摘要： The present invention relates to a pre-paint composite comprising an aqueous slurry of TiO2 particles and attached and unattached polymeric binder, and a sufficient amount of a secondary alcohol ethoxylate of the formula C10-15H22-32O(CH2CH2O)xH to give 35 to 90 weight percent attachment of polymeric binder to the TiO2 particles, based on the weight of total polymeric binder in the pre-paint composite, where x is from 15 to 50; and the O(CH2CH2O)xH group is bonded to a CH group on the C10-15H22-32 chain. The present invention also relates to a coatings composition containing the composite as well as a process for preparing the pre-paint composite and the coatings composition.

摘要： The invention relates to elastomeric products that are coated with a thin layer of elastomeric polymeric coating containing an antitoxic agent, particularly a demand disinfectant iodinated resin. The antimicrobial coated catheters are prepared by adding the antitoxic agent to a solution of a liquid elastomeric polymer and then coating the surface of the elastomeric through a dipping or spraying procedure. The antimicrobial coatings can be applied to a variety of different elastomeric products including gloves and catheters and are capable of providing a high level of protection against microbes and other contaminants.

Aqueous compositions for rinsing electrocoated substrates and processes including such aliphatic hydrocarbon materials are also disclosed.
