摘要： Aqueous alkyd resin emulsion compositions and methods of applying them for providing an exceptionally durable film capable of imparting a gloss sheen to the substrate while simultaneously entrapping pigments, MYLAR or glitter flakes, or other low aspect ratio materials so that they might durably adhere to a variety of surfaces, including, but not limited to, urethane rubber, vehicle tires, and vinyl. The emulsion compositions comprise an alkyd resin, a mixture of alkyd resins, a mixture of alkyd resins and conventional latex resins, or a mixture of all or part of the above and silicone oils. The low aspect ratio materials component of the compositions may be comprised of any combination of various pigments, MYLAR or metallic flakes, or standard glitter flakes, all in a wide variety of sizes, colors and shapes. The emulsion compositions also optionally comprise thickeners, metallic driers, defoamers, and/or preservatives. The methods comprise applying the alkyd resin emulsion composition with low aspect ratio materials to a substrate surface.

摘要： The present invention relates to aqueous resin emulsions containing at least a non-ionic surfactant of general formula R1-(A1O)n-(A2O)x-(A3O)y—R2, obtained by the phase inversion emulsification process. In particular, the invention relates to aqueous resin emulsions commonly used in solvent-based paints, such as, for example, alkyd resins. Said emulsions are stabilized by non-ionic and anionic surfactant compositions which promote the inversion of the water-oil to oil-water phases in the presence of low water content, enabling water-oil type emulsions to be obtained with high productivity and high solids content, even in low shear conditions.

摘要： The resin-coated metal sheet for containers includes a resin coating layer (A) having a multilayered structure mainly composed of a polyester resin on at least one surface thereof. The resin coating layer (A) includes a resin layer (a1). The resin layer (a1) adheres to the metal sheet, contains (i) a polyester resin, (ii) a phenolic resin, (iii) a metal alkoxide compound and/or a metal chelate compound, (iv) an epoxy resin, and (v) at least one selected from the group consisting of polyamine resins, polyamidoamine resins, and polyamide resins, and is mainly composed of the polyester resin. Preferably, a polyester film (a2) is disposed on the resin layer (a1).

The DBI may be biorenewable. A further embodiment is an aqueous suspension polymerization process for preparing vinyl polymer beads from olefinically unsaturated monomers and a free-radical initiator, where at least 10 wt-% of the monomer is DBI.
