摘要： An improved security system to prevent unwanted entrance through a hinged barrier, such as, but not limited to a door, is provided and comprises a member associated with the barrier, whether internal or eternal to the barrier, and adapted to extend from a first length to a second length. An actuation mechanism is coupled to the member and is adapted to extend the member from the first length to the second length and to contract the member from the second length to the first length. A receptacle is provided adjacent the barrier for receiving a portion of the member when the member is extended by the actuating mechanism. A hinge assembly is provided and is disposed substantially opposite the receptacle and adjacent the barrier and is coupled to another end of the member, such that when the member is actuated to the extended position, the member, receptacle and hinge assembly form a security system to prevent unwanted entrance through the barrier.

A slider runs in the track from a retracted position in which the slider is spaced apart from the knob which operates the deadbolt to an engaged position in which the slider is in contact with the knob and prevents it from turning. The slider can be locked in that position by means of a locking pin. The pin may also be used to immobilizes the slider in the retracted position.

摘要： A vehicle emergency egress assembly, including a vehicle door with an opening cut out or otherwise provided, to serve as an egress portal in case of emergency when the vehicle door is difficult to open using the ordinary latching and unlatching mechanism provided for routine entrance and exit from the vehicle. The opening is cut (or otherwise provided) where a transparent armor window would ordinarily be provided, but additional portions of the door are cut out as needed to allow for egress through the opening by a vehicle occupant. A windowed plug is then provided, for releasably plugging the opening. Finally, an interiorly accessible release mechanism is provided, including one or more handles for releasing the plug from the opening. The plug includes a body portion in addition to a window portion. The body portion has a stepped periphery that is held against a stepped periphery of the opening by latches coupled to the one or more handles and extending across the perimeter of the body portion of the plug onto corresponding latch receivers disposed around the opening on the inside surface of the vehicle door.

摘要： A temporary door latch for a door having a face bore and an edge bore where the edge bore extends from the face bore to a lateral edge of the door. The edge bore is disposed in substantial alignment with a strike bore of a door jam. The temporary door latch includes a longitudinal bolt portion that is dimensioned to extend through the edge bore and into the strike bore when the bolt portion is in a latching position. An actuation member is disposed adjacent one distal end of the bolt portion and is selectively operable to move the bolt portion between the latching position and a non-latching position. A flexible neck portion is also provided to connect the actuation member to the bolt portion, the neck portion selectively permitting the actuation member to bend in a substantially perpendicular direction to a longitudinal axis of the bolt portion.

摘要： A security latch for doors and the like is disclosed including a link member one end of which is pivotably secured to the inside of the door and the other end is swingable to a position overlapping the door frame. One side of the swingable end is notched for engagement with a stop fixedly mounted to the door frame for lockable engagement with the notched portion of the link member. A locking knob is threadably mateable with the stop and after the link member is engaged with the stop, the locking knob is tightened to removably clamp the link member in locking engagement with the stop and the locking knob.
