    • According to one embodiment, there is provided a handle system including; a main body mounted to a mounting hole in a board; an operating member supported rotatably on the main body; a lock member locks/unlocks the board with a lock receiver in a vehicle's luggage compartment; and a cover adapted to a back surface of the main body, wherein the main body has a pair of side walls in which a pair of shaft holes are formed, a base portion positioned between the side walls, and a pair of elastic claws provided on the base portion to movably hold the lock member therebetween, wherein the operating member has a pair of projecting shafts which are inserted into the pair of shaft holes, and wherein the cover has opening suppressing portions which suppress an opening movement of the elastic claws.

    • A slam to close, glove box latch includes a housing, a paddle structure connected to rotate on the housing, a rotary pawl mounted to rotate in the housing, and a lock plate carried by the paddle structure to selectively engage the rotary pawl to inhibit its movement. The rotary pawl is spring biased to the open position. The paddle structure is spring biased to the closed position. The paddle structure includes guideways in which the lock plate operates. When the paddle is moved to the open position, the pawl is released to rotate open and the lock plate is carried to an interference-friction position with the pawl whereby the paddle is held in the open position. When the pawl is closed by the slam action of the latch, the interference-friction with the lock plate is released and the paddle structure returns to the closed position. Biasing is limited to two springs. The volume (envelope) of the latch is minimized.

    • The present invention relates to a latch for securing together a panel to a keeper thus permitting opening and closing of a portion of the panel while allowing the remaining portion of the panel to remain closed. When the latch is unlatched from a keeper, a user can refasten the panel by lowering the panel until the main pawl and the keeper are fastened together by the action of the keeper on the pawl of the latch. The latch also provides for the opening and closing of a portion of one of the panels while allowing the remaining portion of that panel to remain closed.
