摘要： In a gap retention member to be disposed between a pair of glass plates when a circumference of a gap formed between the pair of glass plates with their plate faces opposing each other is to be sealed to maintain the gap under a depressurized state, the gap retention member includes hard portions to contact the pair of glass plates respectively and a soft portion disposed between the hard portions and having a lower hardness than the hard portions, the soft portion being more susceptible to deformation based on a shearing force effective in the direction along the opposing faces of the glass plates than deformation based on a compressive force effective in a thickness direction perpendicular to the opposing faces of the glass plates.

摘要： An insulated glazing unit can include a spacer frame disposed between a first substrate from a second substrate and forming a portion of a sealed boundary and a flexible circuit extending through the sealed boundary. In an embodiment, the flexible circuit includes a flexible ribbon having a total length, LA, and an effective length, LE, and wherein LE is less than LA. In another embodiment, the flexible circuit includes an expandable portion adapted to expand a length of the flexible circuit to accommodate: relative movement between two or more portions of the insulated glazing unit, resizing of one or more portions of the insulated glazing unit, or any combination thereof.

摘要： A system for producing multiple-pane insulating glazing units can include a conveyor and a plurality of laterally spaced-apart processing stations that are movable transversely relative to the longitudinally extending conveyor line. Each processing station may assemble glazing panes and a glazing spacer into a partially fabricated glazing unit, deliver insulative gas to a between-pane space between the glazing panes, and press the partially fabricated glazing unit together to seal the insulative gas in the between-pane space and form the multiple-pane insulating glazing unit. In some examples, each processing station moves to an alignment position with the conveyor to load glazing panes and a glazing spacer and then performs individual fabrication steps while offset from the conveyor. During this time, a different processing station can be aligned with the conveyor to unload a fabricated multiple-pane insulating glazing units and/or load unassembled glazing panes and a glazing spacer.

The substantially linear channel that when assembled includes at least four sides and corresponding corners between each of the sides. The spacer frame assembly also has a connecting structure located at one of the first and second ends and an opposite frame end located at the other of the one of first and second ends. The opposite frame end has an inner channel for receiving a nose portion of the connecting structure. The spacer frame assembly also includes a stop extending from the connecting structure for locating the opposite frame end when in the assembled position.

摘要： A spacer for a sealed unit is formed of a stretched elongate strip of material, such as metal. The elongate strip is longitudinally stretched, causing a reduction in the thickness of the material. Stretching is performed by applying a tension across a segment of an elongate strip. The tension can be applied to the elongate strip by passing the elongate strip through at least two spaced sets of rollers. A first set of rollers operating at a first speed engages with the elongate strip and a second set of rollers operating at a second speed applies a tension to the elongate strip to cause stretching of the material. Corrugated rollers can also be used to form the material into an undulating shape.
