    • A cylinder block assembly of a hydraulic unit includes a cylinder block having a plurality of piston bores arranged circumferentially about a central axis of the cylinder block assembly and extending through a first face of the cylinder block. Each of the piston bores has a pitch diameter defined radially with respect to the central axis of the cylinder block assembly. A second face of the cylinder block has pressure ports that extend from the piston bores. The cylinder block assembly further includes a balance plate coupled to the second face of the cylinder block. The balance plate includes apertures that align with the pressure ports, where a cylinder block assembly outer length is defined between the first face of the cylinder block and an outer face of the balance plate. A ratio of the pitch diameter to the cylinder block assembly outer length is between 1.24 and 1.27.

    • An axial piston machine, in particular an axial piston pump, of the swashplate or bent axis type, is described, wherein a fixed control plate (12), which comprises at least one control passage (12a) consisting of a plurality of control passage sections (12b, 12c) separated from each other by bridges (12d), is arranged between a cylinder drum, rotatable in both directions of rotation, and a fixed housing. The object of the invention is to design the control plate of an axial piston machine in such a way that damage by cavitation to the structural parts is prevented over the entire extent of the control passages for the supply and removal of the operating fluid. For this purpose the at least one control passage (12a) in the region at least of one bridge (12d) is provided with a pressure balance opening (13) connecting the surfaces of the control plate (12) with one another.

    • In a hydraulic piston pump, a cylinder port can communicate with a discharge port after a system pressure and a chamber pressure in a cylinder bore becomes in an equilibrium condition. A through hole opening to a surface on which a cylinder block slides in a valve plate is allowed to communicate with a side of one end surface of a balance valve, and the system pressure of a discharge port side is supplied to the other end surface of the balance valve. In the balance valve, a balance piston which slides by a pressure difference between the chamber pressure of the cylinder bore and the system pressure is accommodated. Before the cylinder port communicates with an oil guiding groove, the chamber pressure can be equilibrated to the system pressure by an activation of the balance piston.
