摘要： A technique is provided for estimating time of arrival of a signal transmitted as a pulse and received as a sum of pulses. The received signal is filtered with a novel filter that lowers the early side lobes of the received signal to noise level. A first energy rise point is identified at a point of the main lobe of the filtered received signal, at which the energy is higher than the noise by a predetermined level. Starting from the identification of the first energy rise points, the time of arrival is estimated via curve matching, in which the shape of the filtered received signal is matched to the shape of a reference curve composed by a sum of one or more reference curves that are shifted both in time and in energy. The reference curves are found by applying to the transmitted signal the same filter applied to the received signal.

摘要： A radio signal path design tool that allows radio link propagation path profiling or path-loss measurement where the link partner antenna towers are located in a proposed fixed location on the earth's surface, but are extendable a certain distance in any direction from the fixed location. The design tool can be used to compute a radio link path profile at the proposed tower location, while still correctly representing terrain variations in a variable path extension distance on either side of the radio link. To correctly represent terrain variations across the depicted portion of the earth's surface, the tool computes and applies a modified earth-bulge factor or k-factor. The variable extension distance on either side of the radio link allows for latitudinal and/or longitudinal variations in antenna tower placement, greatly facilitating the identification of appropriate positions of antenna towers during the wireless link design phase.

摘要： The system and method of copy aided geolocation in a cochannel environment. The plurality of emitter signals are detected using a multichannel antenna array, separated into subbands based on frequency ranges using a channelizer, and are further processed using copy weights, property restoral algorithms, and maximum likelihood calculations. The multichannel antenna array may be mounted to a mobile platform and the calculations may assume that the signal of interest is non-Gaussian, but the remainder of emitter signals is combined into another signal that is assumed to be Gaussian. The method and system provides geolocation results that adhere to the Cramer-Rao bound.

The method comprises the steps of obtaining cell location information for a plurality of cells; obtaining a measurement report reported by the mobile entity (10) to the cellular network for a first cell (31) and a second cell (32) of the plurality of cells, the measurement report comprising a parameter related to a first time delay occurring for the RF signal travelling between the first cell (31) and the mobile entity (10), and a parameter related to a second time delay occurring for the RF signal travelling between the second cell (32) and the mobile entity (10). A time delay difference is calculated between the first time delay and the second time delay, and a distance difference is deduced from the time delay difference taking into account the speed of the RF signals travelling between the first cell (31) and the mobile entity (10) and between the second cell (32) and the mobile entity (10). An inter-cell distance between the first cell (31) and the second cell (32) is calculated based on the cell location information for the first cell and the second cell. The inter-cell distance is compared to the distance difference, wherein the multipath propagation is detected based on the result of the comparison.

For example, information derived from the multipath detection may be used to supplement and/or enhance a time of arrival estimation algorithm. The subject system also provides a sounding protocol that allows devices to perform one or more signal exchanges to facilitate generating the aggregated wideband channel estimate and/or to facilitate performing the multipath detection. The protocol allows the devices to perform signal exchanges over one or more channels within a coherence time, and also provides for security mechanisms as well as failure recovery.

摘要： An autonomous system with no Customer Network Investment is described, wherein the system is configurable to operate on in a band in addition to the LTE band.
