The operation detecting portion 7 includes a movable member 6 which displaces in association with the operation of the knob 5, a through hole 62a which penetrates through a light shielding portion 62 of the movable member 6 in a thickness direction thereof, one optical source 15 which is provided on one side of the movable member 6 in the thickness direction, a light guiding path 9A which is provided on the other side of the movable member 6 in the thickness direction, and two light receiving elements 10A, 10A which are attached to the light guiding path 9A. The light guiding path 9A is arranged in a position of being capable of receiving light emitted from the optical source 15 through the through hole 62a when the movable member 6 is arranged in a predetermined position by the operation of the knob 5.

摘要： A laser hazard at the time of non-connection can be prevented with a simple structure. A cylindrical connector exterior, and a block that is incorporated in one end side of the connector exterior and in which a light emitting portion or a light incident portion is mounted toward another end side are included. The light emitting portion or the light incident portion is mounted on the block such that an optical axis direction of the light emitting portion or the light incident portion is inclined with respect to a longitudinal direction of the connector exterior. For example, the connector exterior has a length at which at least a part of light emitted from the light emitting portion can be emitted to an inner side (inner wall) of the connector exterior.

An IMod can be used for optical switching and modulation. Some IMods incorporate 2-D and 3-D photonic structures. A variety of applications for modulation of light are discussed. A MEMS manufacturing and packaging approach is provided based on continuous web fed process. IMods can be used as test structures for evaluation of residual stress in deposited materials.
