摘要： Aspects comprise shadowing system as part of ray tracing. It is based on uniform grid of cells, and on local stencils in cells. The acceleration structures are abandoned along with high traversal and construction costs of these structures. The amount of intersection tests is cut down. The stencils are generated in the preprocessing stage and utilized in runtime. The relevant part of scene data, critical for shadowing of all visible intersection points in a cell, is registered in the local stencil map, as a volumetric data. The runtime use of stencils allows a complete locality at each cell, enhanced utilization of processing resources and load balancing of parallel processing.

The scene element is illuminated using one or more samples drawn from the shading point by performing importance sampling based on the reparametrized directional distribution.

Then, when the scene is to be rendered for output, a vector (28) from a sampling point (25) being considered to a light source (22) external of the bounding volume is determined and then used to determine how to sample the texture that represents the transparency of the surface of the bounding volume to determine the transparency of the surface of the bounding volume between the sampling point and the light source. The so-determined transparency is then used to simulate the effect of shadows cast by the external light source (22) at the sampling point (25).

Additionally, at least one implementation casts a reflection ray of the viewpoint ray. Further, at least one implementation identifies an intersection point between the reflection ray and the map. Still further, at least one implementation calculates the specular reflection of the object surface point based on the intersection point.

摘要： A terrain mapping system is disclosed for use with an excavation machine at a worksite. The terrain mapping system may have a locating device mountable onboard the excavation machine and configured to generate a first signal indicative of a position of the excavation machine at the worksite, and a sensor configured to generate a second signal indicative of a load on the excavation machine. The terrain mapping system may also have a controller in communication with the locating device and the sensor. The controller may be configured to update a surface contour of the worksite contained in an electronic map based on the first signal as the excavation machine traverses the worksite, and to determine an amount of material moved by the excavation machine based on the second signal. The controller may also be configured to generate a representation of the material moved by the excavation machine in the electronic map when the excavation machine ceases to move the material.

摘要： A multi-instance, multi-user animation platform includes a plurality of modeled parallel dimensions in a computer memory. Each of the parallel dimensions may be an independent model of a physical, three-dimensional space having corresponding features such that the parallel dimensions are recognizable as counterparts to each other. Avatars are located within corresponding ones of the parallel dimensions so as to prevent over-population of any one of the parallel dimensions by avatars. Avatars are animated within different ones of the parallel dimensions using input from respective users to provide virtual-reality data. A common space is modeled in the computer memory configured in relation to the plurality of parallel instances so that an object located inside the common space is visible from viewpoints located inside each of the plurality of parallel instances. Remote clients may output an animated display of a corresponding one of the parallel dimensions and avatars therein.
