摘要： Assemblies, systems, and methods for applying postage indicia to one or more sequential mailpiece on a high speed mail sorter are disclosed. In some aspects, a system for franking one or more sequential mailpiece using a postal security device (PSD) hub assembly on a high speed mail sorter includes a plurality of PSDs configured to generate a coded digital signature for the one or more sequential mailpiece during a latency period, a plurality of photo sensors configured to define the latency period, a PSD host configured to receive the generated coded digital signature, wherein the generated coded digital signature is encoded in a data matrix, and an indicia printer configured to receive printer control data and to print the printer control data on the one or more sequential mailpiece in an order in which the plurality of PSDs are tasked during the latency period.

摘要： Provided is an unmanned mail/courier management system and method which can unmannedly receive a delivery of mail or a courier item, and can unmannedly store and receive a delivered mail or courier item. The system invention provides a configuration that enables a work, which is performed for unmanned reception and storage through interworking between an unmanned reception machine and a management server through a network in the art, to be input through and processed by a user terminal, and thus, does not require construction of a network for interworking with the management server in the unmanned reception machine for implementation thereof, thereby enabling easy installation of the unmanned reception machine, and minimizing a standby time by omitting a procedure of directly inputting in the unmanned reception machine.

摘要： The present invention is directed to systems and methods which identify fraudulent situations during the transaction phase. In one embodiment, such detection is accomplished by monitoring for situations either outside the range of normal for the general population or outside the range of normal for this particular user. The normal range could be rule driven and, for example, could include size of a given purchase, frequency of purchases, identity of use equipment being utilized for the current transaction, etc. The rule could be relaxed or tightened, at least in part, based on the length of time that the user has been a customer and the user's past payment history. In one embodiment, device ids are used to detect fraudulent users. These device (or software) ids could, for example, be a “fingerprint” of the user's equipment, or a “cookie” previously downloaded to the user that identifies the user to the fulfillment system. In situations where fraud is detected downloading the value to the user is interrupted.

Monetary liability for postage indicia value is postponed until the token is activated into a postage indicium; thus, the token does not have value and is not valid until activated into indicium. Consequently, a user is not made monetarily liable for printed tokens unless the tokens are activated into postage indicia.

摘要： In a method for enabling the use of a consumable unit in a consumption device of a consumption arrangement, a first item of authorization information assigned to the consumable unit is transmitted from the consumption arrangement to a remote data center. The data center implements a first verification of the first item of authorization information and, as a function of this verification, a second item of authorization information assigned to the consumable unit is generated. The second item of authorization information is transmitted to the consumption arrangement, which implements a second verification of the second item of authorization information, dependent on which use of the consumable unit in the consumption device is enabled. The outcome of either the first or second verification is also used for an accounting for use of the consumable unit when, the first verification indicates that the consumable unit was previously unused.

摘要： A document transmission apparatus reduces troublesome labor of an operator when transmitting document data, inputted from a scanner or the like, by various transmission methods such as electronic mail, facsimile, remote printing and file transfer. An address book containing a receiver and a plurality of transmission methods for transmitting document data to the receiver is generated. Upon transmission instruction, an appropriate transmission method is selected by the receiver, then document data is converted into data of an appropriate data format, and the converted data is transmitted. Further, a notice of transmission indicating that the document data has been transmitted is transmitted to the receiver of the document data by a method different from the transmission method of the document data. Thus, the document data can be reliably delivered to the receiver.

The networked meter allows the Post to charge the mailer, or even the recipient for these services or to provide them with a refund or credit. The services can include changing the processing of the mail piece. Further, the closed loop postage metering system enables more precise methods of paying for services when multiple carriers handle a mail piece. A special case of such multiple carriers handling is the handling of international mail.
