摘要： A heat-reactive resist material contains copper oxide, and silicon or silicon oxide, and is formed so that the content of silicon or silicon oxide in the heat-reactive resist material is 4.0 mol % or more less than 10.0 mol % in terms of mole of silicon. A heat-reactive resist layer is formed using the heat-reactive resist material, is exposed, and then, is developed with a developing solution. Using the obtained heat-reactive resist layer as a mask, dry etching is performed on a substrate with a fluorocarbon to manufacture a mold having a concavo-convex shape on the substrate surface. At this point, it is possible to control a fine pattern comprised of the concavo-convex shape.

Each read head in the plurality of read heads reads a different portion of the first group of the multiple tracks, and where each different portion of the multiple tracks overlaps at least one other different portion of the multiple tracks. Signals are detected from the plurality of read heads, and the detected signals are decoded.

The apparatus comprises an optical system that includes at least one laser source for transmitting a laser beam therefrom. The system includes multiple actuators, each actuator configured to control a position of an associated optical heads. The system also includes a controller configured to determine a position of each of the optical heads relative to an associated track on the optical tape and to prevent, in response to an event causing an optical heads to have a position outside the off-track threshold of the associated track, only that optical head from writing data to the optical tape and to buffer a stream of data for that optical head for later processing.
