摘要： A component monitoring system structured to monitor circuit breaker assembly operating mechanism component characteristics is provided. The component monitoring system includes a record assembly, at least one sensor assembly and a comparison assembly. The record assembly includes selected nominal data for a selected circuit breaker component. The least one sensor assembly is structured to measure a number of actual component characteristics of a selected circuit breaker component and to transmit actual component characteristic output data. The comparison assembly is structured to compare the sensor assembly actual component characteristic output data to the selected nominal data and to provide an indication of whether the sensor assembly output data is acceptable when compared to the selected nominal data. The at least one sensor assembly is in electronic communication with the comparison assembly.

The electrical switching apparatus includes a housing, a mount, at least one charging mechanism, and a pair of separable contacts. The transmission assembly has a drive assembly and a transfer assembly. The drive assembly includes a rotary driving member, a stored energy mechanism, and a linear driving member partially extending into the stored energy mechanism and being coupled to the rotary driving member. The transfer assembly cooperates with the drive assembly and the separable contacts and includes a sliding transfer component. The transmission assembly moves between a LOADED OPEN position, an UNLOADED CLOSED position, a LOADED CLOSED position, and an UNLOADED OPEN position. When the transmission assembly moves from the LOADED OPEN position to the UNLOADED CLOSED position, the linear driving member drives the sliding transfer component in a generally linear direction, thereby closing the separable contacts.

The circuit breaker includes a housing, separable contacts, and an operating mechanism for opening and closing the separable contacts. The charging assembly includes a stored energy mechanism, such as a closing spring, which is movable between charged and discharged positions. A cast member is coupled to the closing spring and moves therewith. The cast member includes a projection. A cam shaft is pivotably coupled to the housing, and includes a number of cams. A catchment, which is also pivotably coupled to the housing, includes an impact surface and a protrusion. The impact surface cooperates with a corresponding one of the cams to resist over rotation of the cam shaft. The protrusion of the catchment cooperates with the projection of the cast member to maintain the desired relationship between the catchment and the cam.
