    • An ignition key switch apparatus having a compact size, high current capability, and a snap action mechanism. A pre-loaded snap spring can be configured to include a fixed end attached to an anchor and a free end attached to a movable contact operable between normal and actuated positions. A cam can be utilized to convert a rotary motion at a key interface into a linear movement of a plunger for snap spring blade actuation. The unique pre-loaded snap spring generates a fast (e.g., instantaneous) movement from an open to a closed position and vice versa upon application/removal of a load to reduce the effect of arcing on associated contacts and conductors. The pre-loaded snap spring also ensures that the movable contact does not remain in any intermittent position, other than the two extreme positions given at any position of the plunger.

    • The invention relates to an electric switch (1) with a contact system (9) which consists of at least one fixed contact (10, 11) and of a movable contact tongue (12). A movable actuating member (5) is operatively connected to the contact tongue (12) for changing over the contact system (9). The contact tongue (12) is arranged on a bearing (18) designed in the manner of a knife-edge bearing. The switch point of the contact system (9) is adjustable by the shift of part of the contact system (9) in the direction of movement (20, 20′) of the actuating member (5), in that the bearing (18) and/or the fixed contact (10, 11) and/or the contact tongue (12) is capable of being set in the direction of movement (20, 20′) of the actuating member (5). In order to adjust the switch point of the contact system (9), part of the actuating member (5) may also be capable of being set in the direction of movement (20, 20′) of said actuating member (5).

    • An electrical switch has a snap action blade with a contact pad. The snap action blade toggles between a first configuration at which the contact pad abuts a stationary contact and a second configuration at which the contact pad is remote from the stationary contact. An actuator moves the snap action blade between the first and second configurations. A reset spring has a first position which biases the movable contact into one of the first and second configurations, and has a second position at which that biasing does not occur. A reset selector acts to determine whether the reset spring is in the first or second position. A manual reset actuator is provided to move the snap action blade into the one of the first and second configurations when the reset spring is in the second position. Operation of the reset selector selects whether the switch is in an automatic reset mode or a manual reset mode.

    • A switch for interrupting an electrical circuit in response to a mechanical interaction, such as an overpressure or underpressure condition. The switch includes an actuation arm electrically connected to a common terminal. The actuation arm is moveable between a first position and a second position in response to the mechanical condition. The switch further includes an M-blade operatively connected to the actuation arm. The M-blade levers from a first configuration to a second configuration when the actuation arm moves from the first position to the second position. The M-blade completes the electrical circuit in the first configuration and interrupts the electrical circuit in the second configuration. The switch further includes a reset actuator disposed to engage the M-blade in response to a reset actuation. The M-blade levers from the second configuration to the first configuration when the reset actuator engages the M-blade and the actuation arm is not in the second position.

    • A switching device is disclosed in which a depression switch and a rotation/depression switch are interconnected by means of a coupling mechanism. When one of the knobs is turned ON, the remaining knob is automatically turned OFF.     • A snap-action switch assembly is disclosed. The switch comprises an arm projecting from a first support and having a first end portion thereof supported by the first support, a spring interconnecting a second support and the arm to exert a compressive force on the arm, a spring adjuster supported on a substantially central portion of the spring and selectably presettable to vary the magnitude of the compressive force, and an electrical contact mounted on the end portion of the arm opposite the first end portion and actuatable by angular displacement of the arm. Preferably, the spring adjuster is arranged symmetrically in the middle of the spring, since the effectiveness of the setting is then at its greatest. The spring adjuster directly varies the characteristic of the spring and is attached to the spring itself, so that a very compact form of construction results.
