    • A low profile limit switch utilizes a bowed spring actuator for advancing a bridge contact into and out of contact with a pair of terminal contacts to close and open the switch. The bridge contact is mounted on a glide on an end of the spring and formed from an insulating material. The terminal contacts are spring loaded and maintained in spaced apart and staggered relationship so that only one of the terminal contacts remains in contact with the bridge contact when it is retracted by the bowed spring. A mounting clip including a mounting flange and spaced apart spring loaded arms extending generally perpendicular to the mounting flange is used to mount the switch to a surface proximate an edge without having to obtain any significant amount of vertical clearance above the switch for bolting it to the surface.

    • A switch assembly is provided which includes a holder defining at least a pair of eyelets extending completely therethrough; an electrically conductive lead-frame supported on the holder, the lead-frame defining at least a pair of openings therein; and at least a pair of electrically conductive rivets each configured and adapted for at least partial positioning in a respective eyelet. The first opening of the lead-frame is larger than a head portion of a first rivet such that the head portion does not contact the lead-frame. The second opening of the lead-frame is smaller than a head portion of another rivet such that the head portion contacts the lead-frame. The switch assembly further includes at least one electrically conductive snap dome in electrical contact with the lead-frame and overlying the first rivet.

    • The present invention includes a new dome contact construction having an integral insulative layer that is precisely cut and aligned with the dome contact mechanism during fabrication. Prior to feeding the metal sheets or strips into the equipment for stamping and cutting the dome contact using the conventional method, a die cut layer of film is applied to one side of the sheet or strip. The film is cut into the shape of the desired insulative layer in the finished switch product and has periodic openings that correspond to the areas of the dome contact that are required to be uncovered both to provide electrical conductivity as a part of the proper function of the switch. The sheet of metal, including the laminate film, is cooled to a temperature near freezing to facilitate clean stamping of the laminated feedstock during the stamping process and is then fed into the forming and cutting press where the domes are formed and stamped.

    • A pressure switch 1 of this invention comprises a base electrode 2, a terminal 3, a disc 4 and a diaphragm 5.     • A rocker switch assembly comprises a rocker switch housing having a ground contact and first and second electrical circuit contact pins mounted therein. Snap-dome contacts are operatively associated with, but normally electrically disengaged from, each one of the first and second electrical circuit contact pins, and are normally disposed in electrical contact with the ground plate. A rocker actuator has first and second actuator posts integral therewith and depending therefrom so as to normally be disposed in contact with the snap-dome contacts. Depression of one side of the rocker actuator therefore forces one of the actuator posts to in turn force its associated snap-dome contact into engagement with its respective electrical circuit contact pin so as to CLOSE the electrical circuit controlled by such electrical circuit contact pin. The engagement of the actuator posts with the snap-dome contacts rocker switch facilitates a small-throw movement of the rocker actuator and tactile feedback to the operator confirming contact of the snap-dome contact with the electrical circuit contact pin and closure of the electrical circuit controlled thereby.
