摘要： According to embodiments of the present invention, an electron device is provided. The electron device includes a support substrate, a conductive planar slow-wave structure on the support substrate, the conductive planar slow-wave structure being adapted to receive an electromagnetic wave signal for interaction with an electron beam, and a dielectric layer arrangement in between the conductive planar slow-wave structure and the support substrate, the dielectric layer arrangement being arranged on the support substrate at only one or more support substrate portions overlapping with the conductive planar slow-wave structure. According to further embodiments of the present invention, a method for manufacturing an electron device is also provided.

摘要： A coaxial amplifier having at least one electron beam is provided. The amplifier may include a conductive rod, a plurality of parallel discs on the rod, a cathode array for producing at least one electron beam. When a plurality of electron beams are formed they are arranged in an annular configuration around said rod and disks, and directed along said rod and coaxially thereof. A first waveguide may apply electromagnetic wave energy to one end of said disc and rod assembly to induce propagation of said energy along said assembly. A second waveguide may extract the amplified electromagnetic energy from the other end of the disc and rod assembly.

The absorbent screen is made of a very heat-conductive material and has—on at least a portion of its rear face, suitable for being oriented toward the wall of the craft—a high emissivity εIR in the infrared spectrum, typically greater than or equal to 0.7.

摘要： The present invention provides a helical slow-wave structure, including a helix, a metal barrel and several supporting rods. The plurality of supporting rods may be inserted into the lines of the grooves tightly, this increases the contact area between the helix and the plurality of supporting rods. With a proper assembly method, the thermal contact resistance between helix and supporting rod may be decreased. So, the invention may enhance the capability of transferring the heat out of the helical slow-wave structure. The helix may have higher heat capacity, therefore, the helical slow-wave structure may become more firm, and more reliable.

A series of overmoded cavities are bounded by parallel or concentric grids that may be separated by metallic spacers adapted to function as a photonic bandgap circuit to suppress competing electromagnetic modes. The selected electromagnetic modes have wavelengths much shorter than the lateral dimension of the grids, allowing the beam-wave interaction to be distributed transversely for improved interaction efficiency. The grids may optionally be slotted and arranged to provide a serpentine traveling wave tube configuration.

摘要： An apparatus and method of modulating an electron beam to induce a high degree of spatial bunching uses multiple control grids located in close proximity to an electron-emitting cathode. An RF field couples to the electron beam in the cathode-grid gap to induce velocity modulation. The electron beam then propagates through a first control grid, allowing the velocity modulation to induce spatial bunching. The electron beam then traverses a gap between the first grid and a second control grid and interacts with the RF field to induce further bunching of the beam. Simulations show that bunching factors of 50:1 may be achieved.
