摘要： A fuel cell stack includes stacked cells, each including a sheet-shaped power generation portion, two separators, a gas passage defining plate that includes a gas passage portion through which reactant gas flows, and a frame member that includes a supply port and a discharge port. The gas passage portion includes opposing portions extended in a flow direction of the reactant gas and arranged in parallel in an orthogonal direction. A main passage is defined between each opposing portion and the power generation portion. The gas passage portion includes a first passage portion adjacent to the supply port in the flow direction and a second passage portion adjacent to the first passage portion in the orthogonal direction. The main passages of the second passage portion each have a larger cross-sectional flow area than the main passages of the first passage portion.

The gas passage portion includes opposing portions extended in a flow direction of the reactant gas and arranged in parallel in an orthogonal direction and wavy portions each having a wavy cross-sectional shape orthogonal to the orthogonal direction. The gas passage portion includes a first passage portion adjacent to the supply port in the flow direction and a second passage portion adjacent to the first passage portion in the orthogonal direction. The connection passages of the second passage portion each have a larger cross-sectional flow area than the connection passages of the first passage portion.

摘要： Fuel cell assemblies comprising at least one thermally compensated coolant channel are provided. The thermally compensated coolant channel has a cross-sectional area that decreases in the coolant flow direction along at least a portion of the channel length. In some embodiments, such thermally compensated coolant channels can be used to provide substantially uniform heat flux, and substantially isothermal conditions, in fuel cells operating with substantially uniform current density.

摘要： A fuel flow groove formed in a fuel electrode current collector of a fuel electrode of a fuel cell includes a plurality of flow groove portions disposed in parallel, and a plurality of return groove portions connecting an end portion of one side edge portion or an end portion of the other side edge portion of the flow groove portions of two adjacent groups. Each of the return groove portions has an inner wall surface portion facing the end portion of the flow groove portions in the return groove portions. The inner wall surface portion has a curved surface shape in which a distance facing each other from the inner wall surface portion to the end portion of the flow groove portions, gradually decreases toward both end portions of the inner side wall surface portion in a direction orthogonal to an extending direction of the flow groove portions.

The at least one raised feature may include, for example, a network of ribs and/or dots. Further embodiments include interconnects having a fuel distribution portion with a variable surface depth to provide variable flow restriction and/or a plenum with variable surface depth and raised a raised relief feature on the cathode side, and/or varying flow channel depths and/or rib heights adjacent a fuel hole.

摘要： A fuel cell power module includes a cylindrical housing encasing a fuel cell stack and an air supply. The housing has a major interior surface. The fuel cell stack can be cylindrical or hexagonal, and comprises fuel cells having an anode and an anode flow field plate, a cathode and a cathode flow field plate, and a membrane electrolyte interposed between the anode and the cathode. The air supply is directed to the plurality of fuel cell cathode flow field plates via a plenum defined by a space between the fuel cell stack and the housing major interior surface. The hexagonal fuel cell stack can be formed by a plurality of fuel cell groups shaped such that when aligned the fuel cell groups together constitute the hexagonal fuel cell stack.

It is provided that the coolant channel (43) extends from an outer region (54), which is located outside the first and second intermediate region (51, 52), into the overlapping region (53), crossing a transit region (55) in the process, wherein the transit region (55) is a subregion of the normal projection of the first intermediate region (51) onto the center plane, which projects from the overlapping region (53).

The manifold part includes an inlet manifold through which the reaction gas is introduced into the channel and formed at a lower portion of the channel, and an outlet manifold configured to discharge the reaction gas from the channel to an outside of the fuel cell and formed at an upper portion of the channel.

摘要： A stainless steel having a low surface contact resistance for fuel cell separators is provided. The stainless steel has a Cr content of 16 to 40 mass % or more. The stainless steel includes a region having a fine textured structure on its surface, and the area percentage of the region is 50% or more, preferably 80% or more. The region having a fine textured structure is a region which has a structure having depressed portions and raised portions at an average interval between depressed portions or raised portions of 20 nm or more and 150 nm or less when observed with a scanning electron microscope.
