摘要： A surge protecting circuit is provided. A first stage filter circuit is connected to an alternating current (AC) source. A surge detection driver circuit is connected to a first stage filter circuit. A first snubber circuit is connected to the AC source. A first terminal of a first power switch is connected to the first snubber circuit. A control terminal of the first power switch is connected to the surge detection driver circuit. A first terminal of a second power switch is connected to a second snubber circuit. A second terminal of the second power switch is connected to an output terminal of the surge protecting circuit. A control terminal of the second power switch is connected to the surge detection driver circuit. A multi-stage filter circuit is connected to a second terminal of the first power switch and the second snubber circuit.

摘要： A ground fault detection circuit can include a band-pass filter that can have a first node and a second node that can be coupled to an earth ground. The first node can be coupled to a local ground of an automatic test equipment (ATE) system for an electrical device that can be coupled via at least one wire to the ATE. The band-pass filter can be configured to pass and amplify a test current signal established at the first node in response to a coupling of one of a conductor of the at least one wire carrying the test current signal to the local ground, and a conductive element of the electrical device carrying the test current signal to the local ground. A fault alert signal can be provided to provide an indication of ground fault based on a comparison of the amplified test current signal.

摘要： Provided is an apparatus and method for protecting against unsafe electric current conditions. A protections circuit may be used in a device, such as an electric grill, that has one or more electric loads, such as heating elements. The protection circuit may protect against various failure scenarios, including, without limitation, instances of ground fault, over current, driver failure, and failure of a microprocessor. In response to a failure, the protection circuit may trip a latch relay or disable a triac driver to stop current from flowing.

摘要： A system and method is disclosed for detecting a specific voltage phase, from a multiphase voltage source, and a specific outlet of an intelligent power strip, that is associated with a residual current flow. The method accomplishes this by using a system that employs a statistical time series analysis using a Pearson's correlation coefficient calculation to measure the linear dependence between the discretely sampled residual current waveform and each phase and outlet's discretely sampled current waveforms, in turn. A residual current as low as 1 mA can be accurately measured and its associated voltage phase source, as well as which outlet of an intelligent power strip it flows out of, can be reliably determined.

摘要： In one example, a hybrid circuit interrupter may include a three-coil architecture, first coil circuitry, leakage detection circuitry, and a main processing circuit including a processor. The three-coil architecture may include a coil housing, three coils, and a plurality of coil assembly conductors. The coils may be disposed within the coil housing. The coil assembly conductors may be at least partially disposed within the coil housing. The first coil circuitry may be connected to the first coil and may generate first coil signals. The leakage detection circuitry may be connected to the other two coils and may generate a leakage signal. The processor may receive the first coil signals, receive the leakage signal, determine whether an arc fault exists based on the first coil signals, determine whether a ground fault exists based on the leakage signal, and generate a first trigger signal if a fault is determined to exist.

In one example, a device includes a current sensor system; a controller, operably connected to the current sensor system; and one or more switches, operably connected to the controller. The current sensor system is configured to receive a measurement of current conducted through at least one switch of the one or more switches. The current sensor system is further configured to perform a measurement of calibrated total current for the one or more switches. The current sensor system is further configured to determine a calibrated value of current for the at least one switch, based at least in part on a comparison of the measurement of current conducted through the at least one switch and the measurement of calibrated total current for the one or more switches.

摘要： A directional fault sectionalizing system that utilizes one phase voltage measurement and three phase current measurements to determine the directionality of high impedance faults on a three phase electric power circuit. This eliminates the need for two of the three voltage measuring devices at each monitoring station conventionally required to determine fault directionality, which makes it economical to install at a greater number of distribution tap points. The system is particularly useful for commonly used three-way tap points along distribution lines where three phase voltage measurement is not readily available. The system is capable of identifying faults under challenging circumstances, such faults occurring on unbalanced three phase power lines and faults occurring on tapped line segments where the currents are relatively small compared to the currents flowing in the main line segments.

摘要： A directional fault location and isolation system for a three phase electric power circuit that identifies a faulted segment by determining the direction of the fault at multiple tap points in the electric power circuit. The directional fault controller, which may be a centralized controller or a number of peer-to-peer controllers located at the tap points, includes communication equipment for exchanging information with the monitoring equipment and the sectionalizing equipment at each sectionalizing control point, which includes the tap points and may also include the substations. The controller also includes processing equipment that determines the directionality of a fault on the power line at each current monitoring device, identifies a faulted line section by identifying a change in the directionality of the fault associated with the faulted line section, and operates one or more of the sectionalizing switches to isolate the faulted line section from the circuit.
