    • A splitter circuit improves isolation between output ports. The splitter circuit comprises input port 1, output port 2, output port 3, FET 6, FET 11 and an impedance circuit. FET 6 is provided between input port 1 and output port 2 and adapted to amplify a signal at input port 1 to output an amplified signal to output port 2. FET 11 is provided between the input port 1 and the output port 3 and adapted to amplify a signal at input port 1 to output an amplified signal to the output port 3. The impedance circuit couples the output ports 2 and 3, and includes a first series circuit including inductor 15 and diode 17, series connected to each other, a second series circuit including inductor 16 and diode 18, series connected to each other, and resistor 19. The first series circuit has one end connected to output port 2 and the second series circuit has one end connected to output port 3. The resistor is connected between the other ends of the first and second series circuits and the ground. Diodes 17, 18 are connected so that current will flow in forward direction when voltage of a power supply is applied to FETs 6 and 11 (FIG. 1).

    • An active quadrature power splitter having low power consumption is small in size and is inexpensive, for obtaining two output signals of which the phase difference is 90 degrees. Since the active quadrature power splitter operates as a microwave amplifier for obtaining two amplified microwave outputs having an equal magnitude and a phase difference of 90 degrees by using a matching circuit of the amplifier, a power gain can be obtained. Also, since a single FET or HBT is used and two output signals are generated in an output impedance matching circuit, the circuit becomes simplified. Therefore, the circuit can be easily implemented in a monolithic microwave IC and the chip size can be reduced.

    • This application discloses a distribution network for coupling between a common signal source and a plurality of output loads. One embodiment of such a network comprises a plurality of n transistors and an equal plurality of two-winding transformers. The transistors are connected in the common base configuration with the collector of each of the first n-1 transistors being connected to the emitter of the next adjacent transistor through the primary winding of a different transformer. The collector of the nth transistor is connected to signal ground through the primary winding of the nth transformer. In accordance with one application of the invention, each secondary winding of the respective transformers is connected to a different output load. In accordance with another aspect of the invention, means are provided for constructively recombining the various output signals from the respective transformers in a common output load. Means are also disclosed for providing an impedance match at both the input and output ports of the network.
