摘要： Technologies for allocating resources of a set of managed nodes to workloads based on resource utilization phase residencies include an orchestrator server to receive resource allocation objective data and determine an assignment of a set of workloads among the managed nodes. The orchestrator server is further to receive telemetry data from the managed nodes, determine, as a function of the telemetry data, phase residency data, determine, as a function of at least the phase residency data and the resource allocation objective data, an adjustment to the assignment of the workloads to increase an achievement of at least one of the resource allocation objectives without decreasing the achievement of any of the other resource allocation objectives, and apply the adjustment to the assignments of the workloads among the managed nodes as the workloads are performed.

摘要： Technologies for connecting data cables in a data center are disclosed. In the illustrative embodiment, racks of the data center are grouped into different zones based on the distance from the racks in a given zone to a network switch. All of the racks in a given zone are connected to the network switch using data cables of the same length. In some embodiments, certain physical resources such as storage may be placed in racks that are in zones closer to the network switch and therefore use shorter data cables with lower latency. An orchestrator server may, in some embodiments, schedule workloads or create virtual servers based on the different zones and corresponding latency of different physical resources.

摘要： Technologies for variable extent storage include multiple computing devices in communication over an optical fabric. A computing device receives a key-value storage request from an application that is indicative of a key. The computing device identifies one or more non-volatile storage blocks to store a value associated with the key and issues a non-volatile memory (NVM) input/output (I/O) command indicative of the NVM storage blocks to an NVM subsystem. The key-value storage request may include a read request or a store request, and the I/O command may include a read command or a write command. The I/O command may be issued to an NVM subsystem over the optical fabric. The computing device may be embodied as a storage sled of a data center, and the application may be executed by a compute sled of the data center. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

摘要： A method of run-length encoding an image containing runs of white pixels and black pixels, by acquiring the image to encode; determining the length of all unique pixel run-lengths contained within the image on a line-by-line basis, irrespective of pixel color; selecting a base of a numeral system, where the base is made up of digits; generating a number of unequal-length codewords equal to the base; determining, in order, pixel run-lengths, on a line-by-line basis, for each pixel run-length contained in the image, where counting on each line starts with a particular pixel color; representing each pixel run-length determined in the last step in the numeral system of the base; determining the frequency of occurrence of each digit resulting from the last step; assigning the unequal-length codewords, according to ascending length of the unequal-length codewords, to the digits according to descending order of frequency of occurrence of the digits; and encoding the image by replacing each pixel run-length in the image represented in digit form with the corresponding unequal-length codeword.
