A process of the calculating unit and that of the generating unit are pipelined.

    • An approach for fingerprinting large data objects at the wire speed has been disclosed. The techniques include Fresh/Shift pipelining, split Fresh, optimization, online channel sampling, and pipelined selection. The architecture can also be replicated to work in parallel for higher system throughput. Fingerprinting may provide an efficient mechanism for identifying duplication in a data stream, and deduplication based on the identified fingerprints may provide reduced storage costs, reduced network bandwidth consumption, reduced processing time and other benefits. In some embodiments, fingerprinting may be used to ensure or verify data integrity and may facilitate detection of corruption or tampering. An efficient manner of generating fingerprints (either via hardware, software, or a combination) may reduce a computation load and/or time required to generate fingerprints.

    • A system, method, and apparatus for compressing binary code comprising at least a processor, memory, storage, and an encoding device or decoding device or both. The methods include comparing a given binary code string having a certain size to be compressed or decompressed with a table comprising all possible combinations of zeroes and ones for any binary data of size x. The given binary code string and all possible combinations are partitioned in packets of size y and each packet assigned a value. A second value representing an assembly of all the values into a second value is performed. The assembly may be performed n times to obtain an nth value. The second or nth value is transmitted or received or both by the encoding and decoding devices, respectively, in place of the given binary code. Table comparison may be performed using pattern recognition.

    • A method of data compression includes obtaining a data set comprising a sequence of data blocks comprising a predetermined number of data items, partitioning said data set into one or more groups each comprising a predetermined number of data blocks, and performing data compression on one or more groups of data blocks. Data compression is performed by associating a control data item with each of said blocks, generating a control vector comprising the control data items assigned to each of said blocks within a group, removing data blocks comprising entirely data items having said specified value, compressing data blocks comprising at least one data item having a value different from said specified value using a fixed-rate compression scheme, providing a compressed data stream comprising said compressed data blocks, and providing an associated control vector stream to enable control of said compressed data stream.

    • The present disclosure includes apparatus, systems and techniques relating to pipelined processing. In some implementations, a method performed by a data processing device includes storing data in a memory module. The method includes processing the stored data in accordance with a compression algorithm to produce processed data. Processing the stored data includes pipelined processing of a defined number of symbols of the stored data in parallel, and discarding results of the pipelined processing that are rendered invalid by other results of the pipelined processing. Additionally, the method includes outputting the processed data.
