The power carrier signal coupling circuit includes a first power carrier signal coupling channel and a second power carrier signal coupling channel. A phase of a three-phase alternating current (AC) power line serves as a common channel, the first power carrier signal coupling channel is arranged between the common channel and one of two phases of the three-phase AC power line other than the phase of the three-phase AC power line serving as the common channel; and the second power carrier signal coupling channel is arranged between the common channel and the other of the two phases of the three-phase AC power line other than the phase of the three-phase AC power line serving as the common channel.

摘要： A powerline communications device comprises a powerline communications interface and at least one other communications interface configured to communicate over a computing network. The powerline communications interface is further configured to receive electrical power. The computing network may comprise mediums including powerlines, telephone lines, and/or coaxial cables. In some embodiments, the powerline communications interface may communicate with a network apparatus, such as a personal computer, via an Ethernet interface. The powerline interface, the telephone line interface, and/or the coaxial cable interface may all be associated with the same media access control (MAC) address. The powerline communications device may receive a message via a first medium and repeat the message via a second medium based on a quality of service (QoS) metric. In some embodiments, the powerline communications device may communicate using multiple frequency bands.

摘要： The invention is directed to an optical network terminal (ONT) for use in a passive optical network (PON) that provides reliable battery status reporting and, optionally, remote monitoring and configuration of an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) unit. In particular, the UPS unit provides power to the ONT via a power line and transmits data to the ONT via the power line. Generally, the described invention supports one-way or two-way communication of status, alarm, and configuration signals using a single power line. Specifically, such signals may be transmitted over the power line by inserting a carrier frequency, such as a carrier frequency of approximately 1 MHz, onto the power line. In this manner, the invention may provide a simple battery status monitoring system while also reducing the cost of installation.

In this instance, the PLC optical network unit does not require a PLC protocol conversion of an Ethernet signal by a cable modem and a PLC modem in each subscriber location, and enables a PLC communication between the each subscriber location and a communication terminal utilizing a PLC Ethernet signal as is, by receiving an optical signal from an optical transmitter via an optical fiber, converting the optical signal into the PLC Ethernet signal corresponding to a predetermined PLC protocol, and transmitting the PLC Ethernet signal to at least one subscriber location via a coaxial cable.

摘要： In conjunction with a wiring in a house carrying data network signal, a modular outlet (100) includes a base module (100a) and interface module (100b). The base module connects to the wiring and is attached to the surface of a building. The interface module provides a data unit connection. The interface module is mechanically attached to the base module and electrically connected thereto. The wiring may also carry basic service signal such as telephone, electrical power and cable television (CATV). In such a case, the outlet provides the relevant connectivity either as part of the base module or as part of the interface module. Both proprietary and industry standard interfaces can be used to interconnect the module. Furthermore, a standard computer expansion card (such as PCI, PCMCIA and alike) may be used as interface module.
