摘要： An iterative two dimension equalizer usable in a receiver of orthogonal time frequency space (OTFS) modulated signals is described. In one configuration of the equalizer, a forward path generates, from received time-frequency domain samples and a channel estimate, estimates of data bits and likelihood numbers associated with the estimates of data bits, generated by delay-Doppler domain processing. In the feedback direction, the estimates of data bits are used to generate symbol estimates and autocorrelation matrix estimate in the time domain. In another configuration, a soft symbol mapper is used in the feedback direction for directly generating the feedback input symbol estimate without having to generate estimates of data bits.

摘要： A digital signal processing, DSP, unit (10) for use in a coherent optical receiver for an optical communications network. The DSP unit comprises an adaptive equaliser (12) and a processing block (22). The equaliser (12) comprises input ports for receiving electrical signals, each corresponding to a different state of polarization of an optical signal received by the coherent optical receiver,and output ports,each connected to a processing branch (14). A processing branch comprises a symbol sequence estimator, SSE, (16) and a carrier phase estimator, CPE, (18) comprising an input for receiving signal taped from an output of the processing branch. An output of the CPE is connected to a phase adjuster (20) interconnecting the respective output port of the equaliser and the SSE. The processing block (22) is connected to an output of the CPE,an output of the processing branch and at least one of the output of the phase adjuster and the outputs of the equalizer.

摘要： Disclosed are a method and device for receiving a frequency-shift keying signal. The device for receiving a frequency-shift keying signal includes a front-end circuit, complex differential discriminators, and a recovery circuit. The front-end circuit receives a signal transmitted via a frequency-shift keying channel, and generates the baseband signal of the received signal. The complex differential discriminators have a plurality of orders and use the complex conjugate of the baseband signal of the received signal. The recovery circuit recovers symbols by applying a maximum likelihood sequence estimation (MLSE) technique to the output values of the complex differential discriminators having the plurality of orders.

Next, the input signal can be sampled based on a clock signal to obtain a sampled voltage. A set of reference voltages can be generated based on a main cursor, a set of pre-cursors, and a set of post-cursors associated with the communication channel. Each generated reference voltage in the set of reference voltages can correspond to a particular sequence of symbols. A sequence corresponding to the sampled voltage can be selected based on comparing the sampled voltage with the set of reference voltages.

摘要： Nonzero elements of a signal vector, which may be a sparse signal vector, may be determined based on an observation vector representing a set of underdetermined observations using a compressed sensing optimization and a non-underdetermined estimation method such as iterative linear minimum mean-square error (“LMMSE”) estimation. Compressed sensing optimization may be used to obtain a subset of potentially nonzero elements of the signal vector, and LMMSE estimation may then be used to find the nonzero elements among the potentially nonzero elements. The identification of nonzero elements may then be used to recover the signal vector from the observation vector. This technique is useful for recovering compressed data such as a sparse frequency space representation of audio or video data from a measurement. The technique is also useful for identifying at a base station a relatively small number active devices in an overloaded communication network.

摘要： Method and system for providing seamless match point switching in an adaptive decoder (e.g., an MLSE decoder) that is based on estimation of symbol sequences, according to which statistics regarding samples corresponding to different symbol sequences in alternative match points are collected by a statistics collector, to create a set of figures of merit representing the quality of each alternative match point, while different match points are obtained by changing the delay of symbols decoded by the adaptive decoder and samples entering the statistics collector. A figure of merit of the current match point is compared to the figure of merit of alternative match points. Whenever an alternative match point figure of merit is better than the current match point by a predefined threshold, a decision to switch to the alternative match point is made. Seamless switching to the alternative match point is performed by shifting the sampling phase forward or backward, until obtaining better performance, while performing adaptation of the decoder to the sampling phase shift.

摘要： A method and system for configuring one or both of a transmitter pulse-shaping filter and a receiver pulse-shaping filter to generate a total partial response that incorporates a predetermined amount of inter-symbol interference (ISI), based on one or more defined performance-related variables and one or more set constraints that are applicable to one or both of the transmitter pulse-shaping filter and the receiver pulse-shaping filters. The predetermined amount of ISI is determined based on an estimation process during extraction of data from an output of the receiver pulse-shaping filter, such that performance of total partial response based communication matches or surpasses performance of communication incorporating filtering based on no or near-zero ISI. The configuring may comprise determining optimized filtering configuration, by applying an optimization process which is based on, at least in part, the one or more constraints and the one or more performance-related variables.
