摘要： An image reading device having a mark formed on front and back of a sheet by an image forming device, and including a first scanner which reads the mark and a second scanner provided at a downstream side of the first scanner and which reads the mark, includes: a position adjusting unit configured to adjust front and back positions of the mark on the basis of a print position of the mark read by at least one of the first scanner and the second scanner; and a monitoring unit configured to monitor front and back misregistration of the mark on the basis of the front and back positions of the mark adjusted by the position adjusting unit.

摘要： An image scanning device includes a detector and a setter. The detector scans an image in units of pages, and detects a code image included in the image in units of pages. When the detector detects the code image on one page and then detects the code image on another page, the setter sets a scanning area on a subsequent page following the other page in accordance with a position of the code image detected on the one page and a position of the code image detected on the other page.

A setting form contains: (a) an additional-object specification field used to present an additional object that is placed onto a document in order to specify an extract area to be extracted from an image read from the document; and (b) a processing specification field used to select processing to be performed on information obtained from the extract area. The additional-object registration unit identifies an image of the additional object presented in the additional-object specification field and the processing selected in the processing specification field, and registers the image and the process associated therewith. The read-image processing unit searches the read image of the document for the image of the additional object and performs the processing associated with the additional object image on the information obtained from the extract area specified by the additional object image.

摘要： An image forming apparatus according to embodiments of the present invention prints an image including a writing region for a user to write on onto a recording sheet, scans the recording sheet whose writing region is written in, combines an image extracted from the scanned image with a background image, and prints it. The apparatus prints a mark indicating the writing region on the recording sheet and cuts out a partial region including the position of the mark after the scanning. The apparatus features extracting an image in a region showing a content written in the writing region from an image that is cut out and rotated in accordance with the orientation of the background image on the basis of the mark image. This allows images to be combined with little misalignment even if the handwriting combining sheet is placed in an inclined state on a document plate.

A computer-readable form includes a form identifier and a separate set of response fields for each person whose requirement fulfillment status is contained on the form, with the response fields adapted to receive a scanably detectable mark indicating completion of a requirement. The form can further include an indicator of each requirement for the objective and a name or identifier for each person seeking to complete the objective. A completion schema may be employed to determine whether a person had completed the objective. The invention enables the completion status of an award or other objective to be entered into a computer without typing and thereby saves personnel time, improves recordkeeping, and better facilitates reporting.
