摘要： Color calibration of color image rendering devices, such as large color displays, which operate by either projection or emission of images, utilize internal color measurement instrument or external color measurement modules locatable on a wall or speaker. A dual use camera is provided for a portable or laptop computer, or a cellular phone, handset, personal digital assistant or other handheld device with a digital camera, in which one of the camera or a display is movable with respect to the other to enable the camera in a first mode to capture images of the display for enabling calibration of the display, and in a second mode for capturing image other than of the display. The displays may represent rendering devices for enabling virtual proofing in a network, or may be part of stand-alone systems and apparatuses for color calibration. Improved calibration is also provided for sensing and correcting for non-uniformities of rendering devices, such as color displays, printer, presses, or other color image rendering device.

摘要： A set-top box with self-monitoring and system and method for use of the same are disclosed. In one embodiment of the set-top box, a housing secures a television input, a television output, a processor, memory, and storage therein, which are communicatively interconnected by a busing architecture. The memory is accessible to the processor, and the memory includes processor-executable instructions that, when executed, cause the processor to detect when the television is not being utilized. Responsive thereto, the instructions cause the processor to scan channels received from the television input and generate a composite TV screen image data that may be resolved to a single TV screen image made from an assemblage of TV screen image captures corresponding to the scanned channels.

The display device is configured to display media content in a display mode and display diagnostic information in a diagnostic mode. The diagnostic information includes content operational and deployment information related to the media content being displayed, and system information of the signage device. The signage controller is configured to control the camera to capture an image frame, process the captured image frame to generate information for a server system such that the server system provides the media content to the signage controller based on the generated information, display the media content on the display device in the display mode, switch the display device to the diagnostic mode in response to a diagnostic input command, and display the diagnostic information on the display device in the diagnostic mode.

A determination of the results of this test may be provided to an operator of the testing apparatus.
